In 2012, Economos snapped for  Connor Barth, who led the NFL in made field goals of 40+ yards. He was also the primary long snapper during Barth’s streak of 25 consecutive field goals, stretching from 2011-12, a Buccaneer record. The seven-year veteran originally entered the league in 2006 as a college free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Cox was seen during the TV broadcast being pushed by LB Adam Hayward in the second quarter, and LB Jacob Cutrera also was involved in restraining Cox, but Sources say that Schiano sided with the players and told Cox that he would not be back on the coaching staff if he repeated his behavior. The part of this story that stuck out at me was this: The Buccaneers had a roster spot open after placing safety Devin Holland on injured reserve on Monday. Holland has been covering punts this season and has been doing a good job at it. He was inactive on Sunday and Larry Asante worked punt coverage instead. Asante also got beat twice in that capacity by Ted Ginn, so I think the team is going to miss Holland. This new kid (see, I told you I’d forget his name) played a lot of special teams in Jacksonville last year so maybe he’ll be able to make up some of the difference, but Holland was an assassin.
