Jimmy Clausen & Golden Tate’s Rum Punch Spring Break In Antigua

Name a bigger college bro tandem in the NFL than Jimmy Clausen and Golden Tate? You can’t. Don’t bother trying. The former Notre Dame teammates were bro(ing) out a couple weeks ago on an adult Spring Break to Antigua and the bros brought along their girlfriends to keep track of the Instagram photographer.
Location:
• West Indies island of Antigua
The group:
• Carolina Panthers backup QB
• Seahawks starting WR
• Clausen’s girlfriend, professional volleyballer Jess Gysin
• Tate’s girlfriend, Elise Pollard

• Rum Punches! LOTS OF RUM PUNCHES!
We’ve destroyed Clausen on a normal basis here at Busted. Gysin sorta hates BC, too, because we’ve been rough on Jim. It might be time to ease off the guy a little bit after seeing these photos of Jimbo double-fisting rum punches and letting the photos go live on the Internet. It’s extremely rare these days.

Jimmy Clausen tweets photo of his new t-shirt

Jimmy Clausen, a former quarterback at Notre Dame, tweeted out a photo of a t-shirt he recently picked up. The photo has since been removed from his twitter feed but can be seen below.

Clausen has since apologized for the shirt saying “I’m sorry if I offended anyone by posting that shirt, I didn’t mean anything by it at all…Looking forward to a great game in Miami!”
For those wondering, Clausen is still on the roster of the Carolina Panthers. He has not thrown a pass during the regular season since 2010. With Derek Anderson ahead of him for the backup job to Cam Newton, it is doubtful he will throw another pass in Carolina.

Jimmy Clausen Tweeted Picture of ‘Catholics vs. Cousins’ T-Shirt (Photo)

Poor Jimmy Clausen. The Panthers’ third-string quarterback received a t-shirt that he thought was hilarious in the mail, tweeted a picture of his gift and got a rounding applause from his Notre Dame followers.
Then Alabama fans caught wind of it and didn’t like it so much. That’s because Clausen’s new shirt read “Catholics vs. Cousins.” Which is funny, you know, because in Alabama, cousins date each other — not.
Clausen swiftly took the tweet down and backpedaled faster than he ever has in his playing days by sending out some defensive tweets and retweets before posting a genuine apology — oh, and he also had some lunch during the controversy.
Some people have to much time on your hands! It's a shirt people lol— Jimmy Clausen (@JimmyClausen) December 17, 2012

Jimmy Clausen tweets ‘Catholics vs. Cousins’ t-shirt

Here at Helmet2Helmet, I’ve made it an unwritten rule to focus solely on the NFL and rarely delve into the collegiate ranks.
Of course, when the situation calls for it, I’ve made exceptions to that rule (and even its own category).
Thanks to Jimmy Clausen, this is one of those times.
On Monday, the Panthers backup quarterback and Notre Dame alumnus tweeted a controversial picture of a t-shirt which references next month’s BCS National Championship game between the Fighting Irish and Crimson tide.
Reading “Catholics vs. Cousins,” the shirt features two caricatures: a stiff-arming leprechaun (Notre Dame) and a yokel swigging moonshine (Alabama).
Predictably, this landed Clausen in hot water with his followers, who’ve presumably complained about the highly stereotypical images.
Shortly after firing off the Twitpic, Clausen deleted it from his Twitter account and began to backtrack.
The shirt was sent to me! I was saying THANK YOU #calmdownpeople

The Carolina Panthers decided to hold onto quarterback Jimmy Clausen, instead of releasing him and moving on.
#Panthers Rivera says they kept Jimmy Clausen. Happy with how that room has developed.

Clausen never panned out the way the Panthers thought he would after they drafted him in the second round of the 2010 NFL draft.

Is it game over for Carolina’s Jimmy Clausen?

Things move so fast these days that you often forget those that don’t win or lose in epic fashion.
We remember JaMarcus Russell’s fall from the mountain top because with the exception of Ryan Leaf, never has there been a projected franchise quarterback that has crashed so hard and with so much drama.
Former Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen has and continues to fall out-of-sight and nobody outside of Carolina is talking about it.

Clausen dating volleyball player?

We’ve been unofficially watching Panthers backup QB Jimmy Clausen on Twitter chase beach volleyballer Jess Gysin for months. Gysin, the face of the Jose Cuervo Beach Volleyball tour, was a 2008 Busted Coverage “America’s Hottest College Athlete” nominee, rocketing her into Internet stardom. Clausen, using his Southern California charm, has been working hard since just after the NFL season ended.
New Internet sensation couple? Looks that way.
At first we just assumed Clausen’s skirt chasing would be a futile attempt, via Twitter, of getting in a hot chick’s pants. then BC researchers started nosing around and put two & two together. At some point this became more than just stupid tweets between B-list athletes.
You can come to your own conclusions. When an NFL QB, albeit one who’ll never start again in the league without a starter going down to injury, has his hand on the inner thigh, he’s getting laid.
Kudos to Clausen. The guy put the work in on Twitter and it paid off. ...

Cam Newton turns down opportunity to switch his jersey to No. 2

According to Scott Fowler of the Charlotte Observer, quarterback Jimmy Clausen has decided to change his jersey number from No. 2 to No.7. Last season Cam Newton asked Clausen if he’d allow him to have the No.2, but Clausen turned him down.
Now you would think Newton would jump at the opportunity to change his number from No.1 to No.2, since that was his number in college, but he won’t. Instead new punter Nick Harris will wear the No.2.

Jimmy Claussen Won’t Go To Supercuts Again

Carolina Panthers backup quarterback Jimmy Clausen is no stranger to controversy, as he had a couple run-ins with the law during his days at Notre Dame. But now, like any good bordering-on-obsolete athlete, he’s using Twitter to fight his biggest battles. This week, Clausen’s main event match is against none other than Supercuts, the place where impatient moms take their kids to look acceptable for yearbook photos. *points to self*
Clausen apparently popped into his local Supercuts yesterday to look sharp for his team photo, which is being taken today, and he was none too pleased with the result. He was angry enough that he vented on Twitter. Sadly, no photo was attached.

Of course, it didn’t take long for someone to point out the obvious.

But shortly after, Supercuts came calling with a formal apology.

Obviously, we’re all on the edge of our seats waiting for a peaceful resolution between these two parties, but I think it’s important that we not rush to judgment about Clausen...

Jimmy Clausen Tweets About Bad Haircut

Jim RacaltoIt’s safe to say Panthers QB Jimmy Clausen isn’t going to see the field anytime soon, given Cam Newton’s success last season. However, Clausen is still a human being, therefore deserves a good haircut because I’m sure he still kills it with the ladies, even if he doesn’t kill it with his career. SuperCuts recently threw a wrench into his haircut plans, and Jimbo sounded off about it on Twitter:
Never going to @supercuts again! #awful
— Jimmy Clausen (@JimmyClausen) May 8, 2012

Not to be outdone, the SuperCuts Twitter got back to him with an apology. Obviously if Jimmy Clausen is upset with his haircut, business could fall off because of his comment. Way to take the high road, Cuts:
@JimmyClausen Hey, Jimmy. Sorry to hear about your experience. Our haircuts are guaranteed, so let me know what we can do to make it right.

Panthers Have To Cut Salary, QB Jimmy Clausen A Likely Casualty

The Carolina Panthers are in serious cost-cutting mode according to Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer. The Panthers are approximately $9.6 million over the salary cap and are one of four teams that have to get under the cap before March 13, that means a lot of wheeling and dealing is going to have to be done in the next three weeks to restructure contracts and/or cut the roster. A provision in the new collective-bargaining agreement allows teams to increase their cap by rolling over unused space from 2011 into the new league year, which will begin at 4 p.m. March 13, but the Panthers extended seven of their players before the 2011 season began, putting them in cap purgatory. One likely cap casualty will be quarterback Jimmy Clausen, the Panthers owe Clausen a $923,000 roster bonus in March, the Panthers then drafted QB Cam Newton No.1 overall in 2011 and signed veteran quarterback Derek Anderson to back up Newton but unless they decide Clausen is ready to be the No.2 QB, no one in the Panthers organizat
