Adrien Broner Shows Off His Expensive Diamond Grill (Photo)

I had the privilege of covering the Lucas Matthysse destruction of Lamont Peterson last night for BlackSportsOnline.
During the live Showtime telecast Adrien Broner of course was in the building, as he is currently preparing to face Paulie Malignaggi on June 22, at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Broner and Malignaggi engaged in a brief bit of back and forth right as the Showtime went on the air last night, but that’s for another report.
Broner and his lovely lady friend had front row seats at last nights fight. Broner in his normal form, had a surprise for his fans, and they came in the form of some new diamond grill that matched his diamond earrings.
This fight for Adrien Broner will be extremely interesting for me and everybody else to see. Broner has now reached the star status, and I want to see if he’ll be focused enough to be Malignaggi.
Can Broner in his favorite Floyd Mayweather impersonation, be the show, and then put on a show in Brooklyn.

Adrien Broner shows off his diamond grill

Adrien Broner has been cultivating a reputation as the next Floyd Mayweather Jr. Based on his appearances and behavior, he’s well on his way to carrying the “Money” torch.
Broner showed up to the Lamont Peterson-Lucas Matthysse fight card in Atlantic City on Saturday iced out with a diamond grill and some diamond stud earrings. Showtime was showing him in the audience to promote his upcoming bout with Paulie Malignaggi on June 22.
Anyone who wears that kind of a grill has to be a big deal, right? I guess that’s the logic behind the look. Dude looks like a member of the Big Tymers.
In previous episodes of Adrien Broner screaming for attention, we shared him faking a marriage proposal after a win, and a video of him offering $200 to cut ahead in line at the DMV. He’s a character.
Here’s another look at the grill below:

Paulie Malignaggi On Drug Testing; Amir Khan On Welterweight; Richard Schaefer On Floyd ...

At Friday's weigh-in for Lamont Peterson-Lucas Matthysse Saturday on Showtime, BoxingScene's David Greisman and I did some interviews on the fight itself, the topics in the headline, some upcoming bouts, the latest figure for Floyd Mayweather-Robert Guerrero pay-per-view sales and more. Read on for word from welterweight/Showtime commentator Paulie Malignaggi; upward-moving junior welterweight Amir Khan; and Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer.

	Paulie Malignaggi

Earlier this week, the welterweight contender had said in an interview that despite signing an agreement to get advanced drug testing via the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency for his June bout with Adrien Broner, testing had not yet begun.

"They started testing me the next day," Malignaggi said Friday. Had they read the article? "I don't know. I didn't ask them. They're just, like, robots who show up and say, 'pee here, blood here.' They read you a bunch of instructions."

Video: Trash-talking at the Paulie Malignaggi & Adrien Broner presser

Malignaggi - "Get your own character - you're not Floyd Mayweather."
Broner - "He's a clown."
The Paulie Malignaggi vs. Adrien Broner press conference held last week included plenty of interesting drama, and plenty of great quotes from both men. What else would you expect from these two, after all? Right here, check out a video of the Malignaggi vs. Broner press conference to see some of the heated exchanges these two had up on stage.
Don't forget to check out our Malignaggi vs. Broner preview & prediction, where our writer believes there just may be an upset in the works for the fight.

At the press conference to announce this explosive world title tilt, WBA Welterweight World Champion Paulie Malignaggi and undefeated, Two-Division World Champion Adrien Broner promised an emotionally charged affair when the excitable and vocal pair finally meet in the ring on Saturday, June 22 in Malignaggi's backyard at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Paulie Malignaggi & Adrien Broner Engage in Humorous Press Conference (Video)

During the MAY DAY weekend Broner vs. Malignaggi was officially announced in Vegas. I have been to a few boxing press conferences and they can get a little heated at times, but this particular one was even more over the top.

This is the edited version and I have to give the editor credit, because there was a lot of vulgarity and harsh language. Funniest part was when Broner allegedly had Paulie’s ex on speakerphone saying how Paulie was no Serge Ibaka.
As far as the fight it is pretty simple. We know Paulie has no power, but Broner is coming up two weight classes, so we don’t know how his power will travel.
It is an intriguing fight with two intriguing characters, I will be in attendance breaking it down for you on June 22nd at the Barclays.

Broner, meanwhile, has been making a steady climb up the boxing ladder and is looking for his best win after snagging titles at 130 and 135 pounds.

Broner (26-0, 22 KOs), who is often compared to “Pretty Boy” Floyd Mayweather due to dominating roughly 300 amateur pugilists, eagerly added 12 pounds to meet Malignaggi (32-4, 7 KOs) at 147. Ranked as the number one lightweight in the world by BoxRec and the fifth preeminent pound-for-pounder by The Ring, Broner most recently exited the squared circle on February 16 with a fifth round TKO triumph … Continue reading →

Since the beginning of their professional careers, Paulie "The Magic Man" Malignaggi and Adrien "The Problem" Broner, two of the biggest talkers in all of boxing, have never been afraid to speak up. Now, the time has come to put up or shut up as Malignaggi will defend his WBA Welterweight World Championship against undefeated Two-Division World Champion Broner on Saturday, June 22 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Plus, the heavyweight rematch the world has been waiting for is set as Johnathon Banks will look to repeat his 2012 upset win over Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell in the co-feature for Banks' NABO and WBC International Heavyweight titles.
"This fight was the main motivation for winning my second world championship last year," said Malignaggi.

Is Adrien Broner going to batter Paulie Malignaggi in Brooklyn this summer?

Although far from official, WBA welterweight titleholder Paulie Malignaggi is considering fighting WBC lightweight champion “The Problem” Adrien Broner on June 22 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Broner (26-0, 22 KOs) most recently exited the squared circle on February 16 with a fifth round TKO triumph over Welshman Gavin Rees in front of a raucous crowd at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
Hometown Fans Unhappy with Paulie Malignaggi’s Victory Over Cano

Paulie Malignaggi of Brooklyn, New York was fighting in his hometown on Oct. 20 at the Barclays Center, but the fans weren’t afraid of booing his 12-round split decision victory over Pablo Cesar Cano of Mexico.
Malignaggi was sent to the canvas in the 11th round, but still retained his WBA Welterweight Championship. Ironically, it wouldn’t have mattered if he even lost by a unanimous decision as he still would have retained his title.

While many people in the crowd thought he lost the fight, the champion didn’t agree. He said he thought he out boxed Cano and was in
