I can’t say I blame New York Knicks owner James Dolan for catching up on some rest during his team’s playoff game against the Indiana Pacers last night, it was that bad. Looks like he had a satisfying in-game meal, combine that with the comfy seat and boring basketball and you can see why Dolan welcomed the sweet embrace of sleep.
James Dolan was so bored he fell asleep during the Pacers vs Knicks game. GO PACERS! @jasonspells twitter.com/KVNNSCHNG/stat…

James Dolan could hardly bear to watch the Knicks’ Game 4 disaster

New York Knicks owner James Dolan was so disgusted by his team’s 93-82 loss to the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night that he had that look on his face. Look at him slumped over to the side in his chair with his hand covering his face. Dolan was sitting in a luxury suite but he was not looking too luxurious.
Dolan also apparently did not want to speak with the media after the game as he was understandably upset with his team falling to down 3-1 in the series. Sacramento Bee reporter Dale Kasler says Dolan actually apologized for blowing off the media, saying he was just cranky that the Knicks lost. When your team shoots 35.6 percent from the field and Carmelo Anthony, JR Smith, Iman Shumpert, and Kenyon Martin combine to go 16-55 (29 percent), you’re bound to be cranky.

Did Knicks owner James Dolan fall asleep during Game 4? (Photo)

No one would blame New York Knicks owner James Dolan for being disappointed in his team's performance during Tuesday night's 93-82 loss to the Indiana Pacers in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference semifinal playoff series. However, did Dolan find the game so boring that he fell asleeep? You be the judge:

Report: Madison Square Garden Chairman James Dolan Fires, Later Rehires Security Guard for Not Recognizing Him

James Dolan is such a peach.
Dolan, the self-absorbed chairman of The Madison Square Garden Company, is popular with just about nobody, and this latest story will not win him any fans. According to the New York Post, Dolan became angry when a security guard denied him access to a private club at MSG during Sunday’s Knicks-Celtics game because Dolan was not wearing ID.
Dolan, who never wears his Garden ID, according to the Post, was indignant.
“Do you know who I am?” Dolan reportedly said.
The security guard did not, despite reportedly working at the arena for three years. Dolan fired her on the spot, shouting, “I’m your boss! I pay your salary! … I have to get new security in this building! I have idiots working here!”
Overnight, Dolan either had a change of heart or someone was able to talk sense into him. The guard was hired back on Monday and was back at a different post for that night’s Rangers game, the Post reports.

James Dolan reportedly fired and rehired security guard who didn’t know who he was

New York Knicks owner James Dolan must have quite an ego. In fact, he thinks so highly of himself that someone recently almost lost their job for not knowing who he was.
According to the NY Post, Dolan was walking into Madison Square Garden’s Delta Sky 360 Club during Sunday’s game against the Boston Celtics when security guard Fiordaliza Hernandez stopped him and asked him for his ID. Dolan apparently never wears the badge since he pretty much runs the show, and he was reportedly offended that Hernandez didn’t know who he was.
“Do you know who I am?” Dolan reportedly snapped at the employee.
Hernandez then admitted that she did not recognize him, at which point Dolan told her he was his boss and paid her salary. He then asked her how long she had been working there, to which she responded “three years.”
“Give me your ID!” Dolan reportedly exclaimed. “You’re fired!
“I have to get new security in this building! I have idiots working here!”
Thankfully, Dolan reconsidered after cooling

Report: Knicks Owner James Dolan Fired A Security Guard Who Didn’t Recognize Him

New York Knicks and Madison Square Garden owner James Dolan has been known to be a quirky and cranky at times, but if this latest story is true, he might need to start doing yoga or something.
The New York Post is reporting that Delta Sky 360 security guard Fiordaliza Hernandez may have caught Dolan on the wrong night, and paid for it.
The 57-year-old Dolan reportedly was walking into the exclusive club during Sunday’s Knick game against the Boston Celtics when Hernandez asked him for his ID sources said.
Dolan of course never wears one, and Instead of laughing it off, Dolan snapped on Hernandez and asked her, “Do you know who I am?”
Hernandez was honest and admitted she didn’t know. Dolan then asked, “How long have you worked here?” Three years, she answered.
“I’m your boss! I pay your salary!” Dolan screamed at her. Hernandez still on her job, refused to let him in without an ID sources say.
Dolan at that point allegedly lost his mind, and yelled: “Give me your ID! You’re fired

Dolan fired guard for bizarre reason?

Madison Square Garden head honcho James Dolan was so offended with a security guard who didn't recognize him outside the exclusive Delta 360 Club inside the arena that he fired her right on the spot, sources told The New York Post The hotheaded owner of the Knicks cooled his heels overnight— and he rehired the underling the very next day, said the sources. Dolan, 57, was walking into the private club —open only to season-ticket holders an VIP guests — during Sunday’s Knick game against the Boston Celtics when security guard Fiordaliza Hernandez asked him for his ID — which he never wears, sources said.
Former Knick Ray Williams Dies At 58, James Dolan Paid For Medical Expenses Up Until Death

Former Knicks guard, Ray Williams, passed away from cancer at the age of 58 Friday, according to the team. Drafted by New York 10th overall in 1997, Williams played with the franchise for a total of five seasons, which is why Knicks owner, James Dolan, took care of his medical expenses when he had to be transported from Florida to New York to receive treatment for an undisclosed illness in late February. “Once a Knick, Always a Knick.”
According to Frank Isola, New York Daily News:
The ailing former Knicks guard, who has fallen on hard times, was transported by the Knicks last week from Florida to New York to receive treatment at Memorial Sloan-Kettering in Manhattan for an undisclosed illness. Madison Square Garden Chairman James Dolan paid for the medical plane that allowed Williams, 58, to receive world-class care and to be near his mother.
As the Daily News first reported in 2011, doctors affiliated with a New Jersey medical group that offers health care to indigent athletes dis...

Jim Dolan loves Isiah Thomas, and obviously wants him back in New York

One hundred years from now, hopefully a team of psychologists conduct an exhaustive study examining what makes Jim Dolan so infatuated with Isiah Thomas. I will never understand the dynamics of their relationship, and can point toward nothing I could even use as a reason for why Dolan so desperately wants Thomas involved with his Knicks.

It is worth noting that I have personally moved past the point of asking why, to simply accepting the fact that Dolan loves Zeke. No matter what he does, he will always love him, and love is blind. In one hundred years maybe we will find out why. For now, there is this news to start your second week in September:

Former New York Knicks coach and president Isiah Thomas has been offered a position with the team, but is reluctant to return.

A report in the New York Daily News on Sunday cited sources close to Thomas that he has had discussions with Knicks owner James Dolan to return to the team in a management capacity.

Isiah Thomas reportedly met with James Dolan

Isiah Thomas will not go away. The New York Post reports that the Hall of Famer player and former Knicks coach/GM met with Knicks owner James Dolan for a business meeting on Friday.
Ready to cringe, Knicks fans? It sounds like Isiah wants back in with the organization.
The Post reports that the meeting between Dolan and Thomas took place two days after MSG’s president resigned. While Thomas may not be aiming for the vacant position, the former president reportedly was against the Knicks rehiring Isiah, so that could explain the timing of the meeting.
Thomas was fired by Florida International in April after three unsuccessful seasons as the basketball team’s head coach. He coached the Knicks to back-to-back dismal seasons from 2006-2008 when they went 56-108. That poor stint as a coach was preceded by three years as a Knicks exec in which the team had the second-worst record and highest payroll in the league, a truly rare feat. On top of all that, Thomas cost his company over $11 ...

James Dolan About To Destroy The Knicks, Meets With Isiah Thomas

I’m not going to lie to you, I’m laughing hysterically as I write this. New York Knicks owner, James Dolan, met with Isiah Thomas yesterday morning at the Mandarin Hotel in New York City, which comes two days after former MSG Sports President Scott O’Neil left the position. Could a return to the Knicks be in store for the much maligned Thomas?
The decision and fate of the former Knicks coach and president from a disastrous period of 2003-08 will be left up to Dolan’s supreme and one-and-only advisor that he actually listens to without a second thought – Isiah Thomas. And that, my friends, is the sound of a collective groan from Knicks fans. From Marc Berman of the New York Post:
A band of security men surrounded the two men who were both dressed in business suits in a quiet corner of the lobby. Thomas has lobbied to return to the organization since he was fired as the Florida International basketball coach last spring. The meeting took place two days after the resignation of MSG sp...
