Patrick Allen Takes Two Titles In Three Weeks

Dynasty's Patrick Allen won the Professional Bowlers Association's H&R Block Tournament of Champions at Red Rock Lanes Sunday. He beat Rhino Page in the final match, 267-263, to win his second career major championship and his second title in three weeks. It meant a $50,000 payday and a two-year PBA Tour exemption in the crowning event of the PBA's 50th Anniversary Gala week. "Over the past few weeks, everything has been going my way," Allen said. "It was an honor to be here the whole week. Winning the Tournament of Champions, especially this week, is something I'll never forget. It was an honor just to be here this week." The victory for Allen, who was the top qualifier making his PBA record-tying fifth consecutive television appearance, continued an amazing turn-around after a dismal start to the season.
"After the first six weeks, I was on the verge of bowling for my job. I was bowling terrible. But I had a practice session with Doug Kent and things began to click after that."

Patrick Allen has made a PBA record tying 5th consecutive TV appearance as he led the field after 48 games in the H & R Block Tournament of Champions. Allen needs to win one game to capture the $50,000 first place check plus a 2 year exemption on the Lumber Liquidators PBA tour. Also qualifying for the ESPN TV finals is Mike Scroggins. "Scroggy" is making his 4th TV appearance of the 2008-09 season. He will face red hot Wes Malott who has won 2 of the last 5 PBA events. The winner will face reigning Rookie of the Year, Rhino Page. The TV finals will air on ESPN Sunday Jan 25th, 2009 at 12:30 p.m.

National Bowling Stadium Championship receives a .78 rating

The televised finals of the National Bowling Stadium Championship held in Reno, NV shown on ESPN January 11, 2009 received a .78 rating (approximately 900,000 viewers). Dynasty's own Patrick Allen picked up his 11th Lumber Liquidators PBA tour title. Allen defeated all time PBA title holder Walter Ray Williams 225-223 in an exciting title match. The ratings were up approximately 18% over the same weekend for the 2007-08 PBA tour season.

CAN'T STOP DYNASTY'S BOWLERS

Dynasty clients made another appearance on the ESPN televised PBA schedule this season. During the 1st 10 televised events on the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour, Dynasty has had players on 9 of these shows. Two shows had 2 players, another had 3. Dynasty players have 3 wins in 9 official PBA tour events during the 1st half of the season.

Most recently, the Bayer Earl Anthony Medford Classic was televised on ESPN. Dynasty clients Tommy Jones and Patrick Allen were showcased in the final rounds. Tommy Jones got a runner-up finish and Patrick Allen got a 4th place finish. That makes 10 ESPN televised events for the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour so far this season, 9 of which have featured Dynasty players.

In the tournament quarterfinals, Wes Malott of Pflugerville, Texas threw strikes in six of his first seven frames to end Patrick Allen's hopes for back-to-back titles. Allen, from Wesley Chapel, Fla., fought back and earned $5,500 for his fourth place finish.

Tommy Jones of Simpsonville, S.C. was the top qualifier for the event, but he eventually fell to Malott in the finals. Malott, the No. 3 qualifier, won three straight matches on his way to the $25,000 first prize. Two open frames by Jones to start the championship match helped Malott take a 33-pin lead after three frames and five strikes in a row to finish the game clinched the victory. The win gave Malott a 10-point lead over Norm Duke - another Dynasty client - in the Player of the Year points race. Jones, who made his first TV appearance since winning the Geico Classic in West Babylon, N.Y., last March, made a valiant bid to get back into the match, but he couldn't put together a sustained string of strikes to cut into Malott's lead. Jones earned $13,000 as runner-up.

The next stop on the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour will be the H&R Block PBA Tournament of Champions which gets underway Wednesday at Red Rock Resort and Lanes in Las Vegas. Norm Duke of Clermont, Fla., will headline an elite field of 60 PBA champions in his quest for an unprecedented fourth consecutive PBA "major" title. Look for several other Dynasty clients to be featured in this event in addition to Norm Duke.

DYNASTY BOWLERS ARE TAKING THE PBA BY STORM IN 2008/09

Gainesville, FL - [January 14, 2009], During the 1st 9 televised PBA events, Dyansty had players on 8 of the shows. One show had 2 players, another had 3. Dynasty players have 3 wins in 8 official PBA tour events during the 1st half of the season.

Nine TV shows on ESPN for the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour are in the books. Dynasty Athlete Representation boasts having its players make eight of those shows. The Cheetah Championship in Cheektowaga, NY had both Mike Scroggins and Patrick Allen. The Ultimate Scoring Championship in Taylor, MI had three Dynasty stars in Robert Smith, Mike Scroggins and the eventual winner Mike Wolfe. Dynasty also had 2 other winners during the first half of the 2008-09 PBA tour season. Norm Duke came away with his 3rd consecutive major in capturing the PBA World Championship in Wichita, KS and Mike Machuga captured the Chameleon Championship also in Taylor, MI. Overall, Dynasty has had 10 ESPN television appearances in this young season. With 12 tournaments remaining during the second half, look for many more appearances for Dynasty's Bowlers.

PATRICK ALLEN WINS PBA NATIONAL BOWLING STADIUM CHAMPIONSHIP

Gainesville, FL - [January 13, 2009], Making his 3rd consecutive Lumber Liquidators PBA tour televised finals on ESPN, Patrick Allen captured the National Bowling Stadium Championship in Reno, Nevada by defeating all time PBA title holder Walter Ray Williams 225-223 when Williams left a pocket 8-10 split on his second shot in the 10th frame of the title match. "After Walter Ray labeled the first one in the tenth, I was just praying for a rolloff," Allen said. "He is the all-time titles leader because he performs when he needs to. The second shot looked good off his hand. Having that happen to win is something you can't even imagine." Allen, who picked up his 11th career title and first of the 2008-09 season earned $25,000 and locked up an exemption for the 2009-10 season. Williams won $13,000 for second place. This marks the 4th time this season that a Dynasty player had won a title on the PBA tour.

PBA NEWS Down by 29 pins entering the final frame of the championship match, left-handers Patrick Allen and Rhino Page defeat Sweden's Tomas Leandersson and Martin Larsen, 457-452, for the doubles gold medal at the 2008 World Tenpin Bowling Association Men's world Championships. Gerard Haran The Washington Wild Things fell to the Evansville Otters (7-2) for the third straight game Sunday afternoon. The Wild Things return to CONSOL Energy Park to host the Kalamazoo Kings for a three-game-set, starting today. Robert Lara The AZL Padres defeat the AZL Athletics (16-5) Lara aided the team by scoring in the 5th and 6th inning to help the Padres maintain their lead.
