The Top 10 Players Most Vital To The Chicago Bears' Success In 2008 - # 6 Chris Williams

Much of the Bears' success on offense this year will rest on Chris Williams' ability to digest the blocking scheme and improve his run-blocking skills. If he does, Rex Grossman/Kyle Orton will have the much-needed time to throw and lanes will open for fellow rookie Matt Forte. If he fails, opposing defenses will be in the Bears backfield — as another famous Commodore put it — all night long.

Bears Injuries...

The Chicago Bears had an abundance of defensive starters on this week's injury report, and this morning got both good and bad news as some will play, and some will not.

Among the players that are inactive for today's game are Lance Briggs, Nathan Vasher and Charles Tillman.

With this, they got a little good news as Tommie Harris will play along with offensive linemen Ruben Brown and Fred Miller.

Some other good news for the Bears is that while both of the Bears corners are out, the Lions will be without rookie WR Calvin Johnson.

The Top 50 NFL Free Agents

A pretty solid list, but as the writer puts it, this group is "thinner than Nicole Ritchie." Scarcity leads to average guys getting big contracts. Who will be the NFL's Gil Meche?

Ric Flair: Chicago Bears role model

I was kind of pissed about how the Bears took a few Flair Chops on their way to the playoffs last night, but you can't blame the offensive line. They played well. Woooooooooooo!

"Hanging over the tops of lockers belonging to offensive linemen Wednesday were ornate belts, each with a huge gold emblem on the front and two smaller ones on the sides. If they looked like world championship belts for professional wrestling, that was the idea.

The belts were the gift to each lineman from guard Ruben Brown, who had the gifts done as surprises for a group that is a big fan of Nature Boy Ric Flair, inducted into the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum in May. Brown commissioned the same man who did Flair's to do these belts, which include the main inscription "Da Line" with illustrations of five linemen in their stances, the same illustration on a popular T-shirt the group had done in the past.

"I thought it would be a neat Christmas gift for the rest of the guys," Brown said. "It's a replica of Ric Flair's first championship belt. Through our conversations we realized we all like Ric Flair and a lot of us grew up liking him."
