Rutgers' Ray Rice going to the NFL

Ray Rice has been a beast for the Rutgers Scarlett Knights the past two seasons, and has decided to throw his hat into the already deep RB pool for the NFL. Rice was the third leading rusher in the NCAA, behind UCF's Kevin Smith and Tulane's Matt Forte. He's expected to be a late 1st round pick, but with the career length that RB's have now, it's not surprising that he's bolting for the league. Good luck Ray.

Rutgers RB Ray Rice in his chase for the Heisman Trophy

As the 2006 Texas Bowl Champion Rutgers Scarlet Knights move toward another college season, they are currently ranked 16 among USA todays coaches polls. Head Coach Greg Schiano will likely continue to encourage his players to keep "chopping" away and a larger part of that chopping axe is Heisman Trophy hopefull Raymell Rice. He was a major component in the famous upset against Louisville at home aired on ESPN last season, setting the tone for a dramatic late season Big East away game this year. In the 2006 season Rice finished 2nd in the nation clocking 1,794 rushing yards. The St.Louis Rams selected RB Brian Leonard in the 2nd round leaving Rice with the responsibility of carrying the offense to another winning season. Will Rice break 2,000 yards rushing? What will it take to bring a Heisman Trophy back to the RU fans of NJ?
