Fantasy Football: Top 10 Quarterbacks for 2013

1.) Aaron Rodgers:
It was a disappointing season for Aaron Rodgers and fantasy owners last season. After throwing 45 touchdowns and 4,643 passing yards in 2011, A-Rod took a step back in 2012 with only 39 touchdowns and 4,300 passing yards. Despite the small drop in numbers, Rodgers still played at an MVP level while playing behind an offensive line that gave up 51 sacks. Yes, Rodgers lost Greg Jennings and Donald Driver but Driver was all but a memory last year with only 8 receptions. While Jennings still can play at a high level, he missed 8 games last season and Rodgers was just fine. Rodgers has a few things going for him that should help his stats go up again. Green Bay moved Bryan Bulaga and Josh Sitton to the left side to help improve their protection and give Rodgers time to throw. Green Bay also drafted two great rookie RB’s with Eddie Lacy and Johnathan Franklin. The improvement on the offensive line along with the new running attack, will give Rodgers more time to throw t...

FANTASY FOOTBALL ANALYSIS
I’m glad I waited on writing about Jacquizz because the big news just went down in Atlanta. The Falcons just signed Steven Jackson, one of the hungriest players in the NFL to a three-year deal. I say hungry because he’s never shown lack of effort on the field, even though he’s reached the “Old Man” mark of 30.
Before this move from the Falcons, when he was going to be the man in Atlanta, I was predicting Jacquizz Rodgers to have a nice season and possibly start to take over more of the carries and touches. But now, I see him doing exactly what he did last season. And maybe even take fewer touches. Steven Jackson is a beast, and now that he’s on a team with a high-powered offense, I expect him to be a three-down back and get the lion’s share of the work. Rodgers will have his games, but they will be hard to predict and could be predicated on ...

Falcons would be smart to pursue Steven Jackson

Michael Turner was released by the Atlanta Falcons who are now looking to go in another direction at the running back position. What I don’t understand is why no one is bringing up Steven Jackson as a potential replacement?
The Falcons should pursue Steven Jackson, because this is a football player; not just a running back, but a football player that has rushed for 1,000 yards a season for eight straight seasons. On a football team in the St... Read more

Mike Smith Says Falcons RB Jaquizz Rodgers Isn't A Change Of Pace Back

Falcons head coach Mike Smith addressed the media today, and as always, he gave us bunches of cryptic coachspeak we can overanalyze. His comments about running back Jacquizz Rodgers were interesting. When asked what were his thoughts on Rodgers and what did he see his role being the next couple of years, Smith answered: "Jacquizz did a very nice job for us . . . [W]e thought he was only going to be a change of pace back. We found out very quickly that even though he is short, he is not little. He can handle all three downs and he does a very good job for us returning kicks. We were very transparent back in March of last year in terms of how we were going to put together our offense. That we were not going to have a featured back. That we were going to have carries dispersed amongst a number of guys and I think Jacquizz took advantage of his opportunities this year in terms of production he did a nice job."

When Michael Turner left San Diego and came to the Atlanta Falcons he filled a position of need. Now it seems the Falcons may not need him any more. Given the consistent emergence of Jacquizz Rodgers, it seems the Falcons are ready to let Turner walk who is at the end of a six-year, $34.5 million contract.
Michael Turner has been a solid option for the Falcons over the years and scored over 10 touchdowns each season... Read more

Jacquizz Rodgers had a pretty nice game last week showing off some beast mode type of moves. The Falcons will need everything he’s got this week to beat the 49ers. Should be an awesome game.

Jacquizz Rodgers has a shirt that references his name, and it’s fantastic (pic)

Jacquizz Rodgers is a second-year running back for the Atlanta Falcons out of Oregon State. And while he may not be a household name just yet, he has a name that nevertheless is certainly unique, one that sticks in your head upon hearing it.
Speaking of things sticking, Rodgers was photographed rocking a t-shirt that bears a message incorporating “Quizz,” the nickname he goes by, created out of his already original name. Obviously, I don’t need to tell most of you out there that there are many, many ways in which to incorporate that moniker into all sorts of delightfully sophomoric references. Which is something the shirt Rodgers was wearing accomplished on a brilliant level:

Haha. Once again, fantastic.

Jacquizz Roders of the Falcons gets stopped by a group of fans for a quick picture. With Turner looking slow on the field at least (maybe why he’s driving 95 MPH around town), Rodgers could still emerge this season. I haven’t given up on him yet.

The Falcons have a case of brotherly love going down right now as their emerging superstar running back Jacquizz Rodgers is certainly beaming that his brother James has made the team’s practice squad.

Jacquizz Rodgers Every Down Back?

I’m bigger than Warrick Dunn Juan…
Jacquizz Rodgers is coming into his second season in the NFL and the Falcons could have big plans for the not so little RB.
ESPN’s Pat Yaskinsas is almost certain the Falcons have big plans for Rodgers. “Jacquizz is not little,” Smith said. “He’s short, but he’s thick.” The coach went on to rave about Rodgers’ pass-protection abilities. With Michael Turner’s workload set to be scaled back, there’s plenty of PPR flier appeal here. Yaskinsas says the Falcons want Rodgers to be “more like what Warrick Dunn once was.”
Michael Turner will not be a 300 carry back every again, but will still get the majority of goaline duties. We could see a bit more Rodgers in the new look passing game. He should be on your radar in PPR leagues.

As the norm for most running backs now, is come out after their junior season, due to the short career span for running backs. Jacquizz was no different, deciding to enter the draft after an illustrious 3 year career at Oregon State.Despite not being heavily recruited by the major schools in the FBS, mainly because of his small size, he elected to join his brother, James at Oregon State. He made a huge impact for the Beavers the minute he arrived, being awarded Pac-10 offensive player of the year as a freshman in 2008. He continued to light up the Pac-10 for the rest of his time that he was on campus. Finishing with 3,887 yards off 788 carries (4.9 average a rush) for 46 touchdowns! Also add in his 1,056 yards off 151 catches for ...
