Redskins Young Talent: Aldrick Robinson

Opportunity knocks With the Redskins cap penalty preventing huge free agent moves, the team is forced to lean more heavily on their in-house guys and develop their young talent. In these segments, I will be taking a look at the players who have a chance and the opportunity to make an impact on the team this season. *Redskins Young Talent: Jordan Bernstine Stretching the field… This is term NFL offenses use to describe what a speedy deep threat wide receiver can do to a defense. And even though Aldrick Robinson only had 11 Receptions for 237 yards for 3 touchdowns last year this is exactly what he did. 2 of the 3 touchdowns were from 50+ yards and had varying impact on the games in which they were made. But it was the plays in which he did not get thrown a ball that Robinson made the most impact, with his routes always seeming to catch the attention of Safeties and making other big plays possible for Garcon, Moss, and yes even Mr. Underachiever Leonard Hankerson. Aldrick Robinson is ...

Washington Redskins: Robinson & Meriweather Fine After Collision

Washington Redskins wide receiver Aldrick Robinson is a promising, budding star in Mike Shanahan's offense. So after the freakish end zone crash he had during warm-ups last week with safety Brandon Meriweather, fans and coaches alike became understandably concerned with the receiver's well-being.On Friday, five days after the collision, Robinison had some comforting, and insightful things to say to the media.“I’m feeling good,” Robinson said following Friday's practice at Redskins Park, “Everything is back to normal now.”Robinson described the experience as “definitely bizarre” and “scary.”He was lingering around one of the end zones, headphones on, when Meriweather just came from nowhere and slammed right on into him.“I was just out there lost,” Robinson said.Following the hit, Robinson lay on the ground in a fog. "I started hearing everybody saying that, ‘He’s knocked out. He’s knocked out.’ I couldn’t move and I was trying to wake up but I couldn’t. So I w

The Video of Redskins Brandon Meriweather and Aldrick Robinson Getting Hurt During Pregame Warmups

This video of Brandon Meriweather and Aldrick Robinson was circulating like crazy around the internet yesterday. Safety Brandon Meriweather was set return from a knee injury suffered in the preseason and play in his first game with the Washington Redskins on Sunday in Tampa Bay. But it looks like his first action in 2012 will have to wait a little longer after a pre-game collision with a teammate.
Robinson appeared to be knocked out and according to the Washington Times, he laid on the ground for several minutes while trainers attended to him before walking slowly off the field. Meriweather looked to be writing in pain and grabbing the knee that has kept him out the first three weeks. Both guys were inactive, but seem to be OK.

Two Redskins collide in pregame warmups, injuring them both

Sort of a freak accident went down Sunday before the Redskins-Buccaneers game when former Patriots safety Brandon Meriweather collided with teammate Aldrick Robinson in the endzone during pregame warmups. Both Meriweather and Robinson were ruled inactive after the collision, which you can watch in the video above.
Robinson, a wide receiver, had been a pretty important member of the ‘Skins passing attack so far this season—catching seven passes for 104 yards and a touchdown to date.
Meriweather, meanwhile, was listed as probable and attempting to make his regular-season debut this week after missing the first three games with a knee injury.
Ouch.

Both players went down immediately and took some time to get up.According to CSN Washington, Meriweather was down about five minutes, but it took Robinson about 10 minutes to get up as he was standing still when Meriweather ran into him.Meriweather had missed the first three games of the season with a sprained MCL and was expected to see his first action of the season.
The Washington Redskins' surprise player of 2012: Aldrick Robinson

Sparked by a question asked on Twitter, @LL_HTTR has convinced me that Aldrick Robinson will be the surprise of the season. Robinson was called up from the practice squad by the Washington Redskins in the latter part of the 2011 season, after another team offered him a roster spot. Even though didn't get a chance to see the field last year, he does have the benefit of being indoctrinated in the system

@LL_HTTR is a Knowledgeable source, hosting a website (HTTR24-7) and a podcast, all dedicated to the Redskins. He's got connections to players and the organization. His words hold value to those who interact with him. Give him a follow: @LL_HTTR.

He talked about a 'role' the Shanahan's had planned out for Robinson this season. Mostly returning, but also making plays from the slot; eliminating the need for Brandon Banks. Also expect him to get opportunities on end-arounds, trick plays, bubble screens and deep balls. That role might not lead to a ton of statis...

Robinson Earns Coaches’ Trust, Promotion

When the Redskins selected receiver Aldrick Robinson in the sixth round (178th overall), they knew that they had raw talent on their hands.
Robinson hailed from Southern Methodist University and was indoctrinated into the Run-n-Shoot offense, which traditionally doesn’t translate smoothly to the pros. But Robinson possessed game-changing speed, running a 4.35 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine in April.
Rolling the dice on the speedster, Robinson got his first NFL opportunity in the second half of the first preseason game against Pittsburgh. Back deep to return a punt, Robinson literally let opportunity slip through his hands–twice. He muffed two consecutive punts, and that was his last appearance on the field.
“I was just too anxious to play I think,” he said after the game. ”I was running before I had the ball, looking downfield to see who I gotta make miss, before I even caught the ball. Basically I was trying to establish myself as a playmaker before I could even catch the pun...

Aldrick Robinson aims to prove he can play

After 16 weeks on the Washington Redskins’ practice squad, rookie wide receiver Aldrick Robinson figured he wouldn’t get a call-up to the team’s 53-man roster.
So when the Southern Methodist University product got the call from his agent Tuesday and learned that the Redskins, who drafted him in the seventh round last April, were promoting him, Robinson was surprised.

The Washington Redskins have promoted rookie wide receiver Aldrick Robinson to the 53-man roster according to a person with knowledge of the situation.
Robinson was the Redskins’ final 2011 draft pick on the practice squad. Ten of the other 11 have made it to the 53-man roster this season, although receiver Leonard Hankerson’s season ended in injury. Second-rounder Jarvis Jenkins was competing for a starting job during the preseason before he suffered a season-ending knee injury.

Aldrick Robinson And The Masterful No. 11

No matter how much you choose to believe or not believe in magic, everyone, at some point, has made a wish at exactly 11:11. It’s a palindrome, it’s in the only time on the clock or the calendar that has all repeating numerals, and it’s the first two-digit prime number.
But according to numerology, No. 11 is also a “masterful number.” The following text is a quoted description for someone that has the No. 11 prominently featured in his life path and destiny:
You have the potential to be a source of inspiration and illumination for people. You possess an inordinate amount of energy and intuition…Many inventors, artists, religious leaders, prophets, and leading figures in history have had the 11 prominent in their chart.
Good to know. But how does this apply to the Redskins’ own No. 11, practice squad receiver/returner Aldrick Robinson? Perhaps this explanation will be of some use:
Because you are so highly charged, you experience the consequences of a two-edged sword. You poss...
