The idea has been to build a better run game and to keep Ben Roethlisberger from taking so many hits. That all starts up front and therefore they are trying to build their best line since the 2004 and 2005 seasons when the Steelers had a solid front five and a dominant running game. The rebuild of the offensive line started with the 18th overall pick in 2010. Pittsburgh used that pick on Florida center Maurkice Pouncey who has been to the Pro-Bowl in each of his first three seasons and is considered to be one of the best at his position.
