One such strategy is the idea of imploring a quarterback platoon system. In this system an owner will draft 2 quarterbacks after the first five rounds and play the best match up each week of the season. The benefit of this strategy is that an owner is not forced to burn an early draft pick on a QB, and can load up his roster with high scoring running backs and wide receivers in the first part of a draft. Two quarterbacks who fit nicely into a weekly rotation for 2013 are Louisville’s Teddy Bridgewater and Arizona State’s Taylor Kelly. Four different receivers caught more than 40 passes from Bridgewater last year. When it comes to spreading the ball around, I don’t think Teddy necessarily has a favorite target. However, junior Eli Rogers is the receiver that Bridgewater has the most chemistry with. Rogers and Bridgewater were teammates at Miami Northwestern High School and have been playing together since their Pop Warner days. These two share a special bond on and off the football field.  Rogers lived with Bridgewater and his family off and on during high school, due to his mother’s medical issues. When the two high school teammates committed to Louisville 2010, there was plenty of excitement. The Miami native is projected to be the first quarterback and maybe even the first pick overall in next year’s draft. Of course Bridgewater could decide he wants to stay in school for a senior season in the ACC, but he’ll definitely have the option to go pro after his junior year if he chooses. At this point, I don’t think I’m going out on a limb by saying that Bridgewater very well may be the best quarterback to play at Louisville when it’s all said and done.
