College Fantasy Football 2013: BCS QB Platoon Consideration

One of the most important aspects of playing college fantasy football is developing a strategy. One such strategy is the idea of imploring a quarterback platoon system. In this system an owner will draft 2 quarterbacks after the first five rounds and play the best match up each week of the season. The benefit of this strategy is that an owner is not forced to burn an early draft pick on a QB, and can load up his roster with high scoring running backs and wide receivers in the first part of a draft. Two quarterbacks who fit nicely into a weekly rotation for 2013 are Louisville’s Teddy Bridgewater and Arizona State’s Taylor Kelly. Here is a breakdown of how these two could possibly be used on a week-by-week basis.Week One- Bridgewater vs. OhioThis is an easy call as Kelly has a bye in Week One. The match up for Teddy is very appealing against Ohio. The Louisville offense should be humming in this one.Week Two- Kelly vs. Sacramento StateBoth QB’s play cupcakes this week, but we will ri...

Louisville Reciever Eli Rogers Poised For A Big Junior Season

Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has plenty of weapons at the wide receiver position. Four different receivers caught more than 40 passes from Bridgewater last year. When it comes to spreading the ball around, I don’t think Teddy necessarily has a favorite target. However, junior Eli Rogers is the receiver that Bridgewater has the most chemistry with.
Rogers and Bridgewater were teammates at Miami Northwestern High School and have been playing together since their Pop Warner days. These two share a special bond on and off the football field. Rogers lived with Bridgewater and his family off and on during high school, due to his mother’s medical issues.
When the two high school teammates committed to Louisville 2010, there was plenty of excitement. Two years later, Bridgewater is now a Heisman trophy candidate and although Rogers isn’t getting the same attention nationally, you can be sure that he’ll be a key contributor in Louisville’s offense in 2013.

Teddy Bridgewater Snubbed By Lindys

I think it’s safe to say that Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will likely leave a year early and enter his name in the 2014 NFL Draft. The Miami native is projected to be the first quarterback and maybe even the first pick overall in next year’s draft. Of course Bridgewater could decide he wants to stay in school for a senior season in the ACC, but he’ll definitely have the option to go pro after his junior year if he chooses.
At this point, I don’t think I’m going out on a limb by saying that Bridgewater very well may be the best quarterback to play at Louisville when it’s all said and done. Despite shying away from a formal Heisman campaign, Bridgewater still has a chance to be a finalist for the award.
Many of the national college football media outlets have jumped on the Louisville bandwagon for the 2013 season. Not only because Charlie Strong returns nearly everyone from last year’s Sugar Bowl team, but because Louisville has one of the best quarterbacks in the country...

Louisville's Bridgewater latest with an anti-Heisman campaign

We have seen Heisman pushes fueled by a name change -- Joe Theismann altering the pronunciation of his name from Thees-mann to rhyme with the trophy a pricy Manhattan billboard and a bevy of promotional items.

But Louisvilles Teddy Bridgewater is taking a different approach: the anti-campaign.

"He went to the coaches not wanting a Heisman-type campaign," Louisville sports information director Rocco Gasparro told WDRB.com. "He wanted it to be about team and if we won as a team individual recognition would come anyway. It says a lot about the character of Teddy, I think, and how much his team means to him."

But what Bridgewater is missing is that his request in itself is a campaign. Its one that casts him as a candidate outside of a beauty pageant. In a Bachelor season with an engagement to a stiff-armed beauty at stake, the Cardinals QB isnt interested in the rose.

Its a stance we saw Texas A&M take last year and used it to perfection with winner Johnny Manziel.

Now granted Manz

Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater Wants To Win Games, Not The Heisman Trophy

gocards.com
Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is regarded as one of that nation’s best at his position, with many analysts suggesting he’ll likely go as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. He’s also being billed as one of the favorites for the Heisman Trophy this upcoming season. But that doesn’t mean he wants his school to push for it.
Bridgewater recently sat down his coaching staff and told them that he’d prefer that the school not run a Heisman campaign. Sports information director Rocco Gasparro told WDRB:

“He went to the coaches not wanting a Heisman-type campaign,” Gasparro said. “He wanted it to be about team and if we won as a team individual recognition would come anyway. It says a lot about the character of Teddy, I think, and how much his team means to him.”

Bridgewater himself added that the goal is the national championship, not the Heisman.

Bridgewater says no to Heisman hype

After leading his team to a Sugar Bowl victory last season, Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is considered, at the very least, an early candidate in the running to win this year's Heisman Trophy.

Bovada currently gives the junior 12-1 odds of taking home college football's most prestigious personal award. That puts him tied for fourth among the betting favorites behind reigning Heisman winner Johnny Manziel (9-2).

For most 20-year-olds, that kind of preseason recognition would be pretty cool, not to mention a good launching-off point for a Heisman campaign.

But Bridgewater isn't most 20-year-olds, and rather than having the university go out of its way to tout his Heisman candidacy, he's done the opposite: He's asked them not to mention it at all.

"I don't pay attention to it. I'm all about this team," Bridgewater told WDRB-TV in Louisville . "I'm all about the team having success. I'm all about my teammates becoming better players. The Heisman is

Scouting Notebook: Junior Teddy Bridgewater Assumes Top QB Spot, Senior David Fales a Work in ...

The 2013 draft class will forever be remembered as the “Year of the Anti-Quarterback”. Teams refused to value the top quarterbacks in the class as franchise-level talents despite multiple showing that ability in college.

With just one quarterback going in the 1st round and another in the 2nd, the eight or so quarterback-needy teams delayed the inevitable search for a franchise quarterback in 2013, putting added pressure on the 2014 class.

Louisville’s Teddy Bridgewater’s impressive freshman and sophomore year is what has lead him to be the top draft eligible quarterback in the 2014 class (if he chooses to declare). San Jose State’s David Fales has been the recipient of national exposure in recent weeks, but the non-BCS prospect still has ample work to do before he’s a 1st round talent.

It’s been about 72-hours since the 2013 NFL Draft concluded, but since professional football is talked about 365 days a year, the 2014 draft is already a topic of conversation.
Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater very well may have been the top quarterback taken in the 2013 draft had he been eligible. College players can’t go pro until after their junior season.
Bucky Brooks of NFL.com published the top 30 draft eligible players in the 2014 draft, with Bridgewater coming in at No. 1. Below is an excerpt. Click here to see the entire top 30.
1) Teddy Bridgewater*, QB, Louisville: To observers not already familiar with the best pure passer in college football, the Sugar Bowl served as Bridgewater’s coming-out party. He displays elite arm strength, touch and accuracy, though he is most impressive as the unquestioned leader of the Cardinals.

Bridgewater Shying Away From Heisman Hype

For the first time in recent years, the Louisville Football program has a legitimate Heisman trophy candidate. After his sensational sophomore season, which included a stellar performance in the Sugar Bowl, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is one of the front-runners for 2013 Heisman Trophy.
Bridgewater has always made it clear that he cares much more about the team’s success than personal accolades. Therefore it shouldn’t be considered as much of a surprise to hear that he’s shying away from the Heisman hype.
“We’re going to let Teddy go and play,” Charlie Strong told the media at a press conference last week. “Teddy doesn’t want to let people down and he doesn’t want all of the attention. He wants to win first and foremost.”
You’ve got to appreciate a guy who tells his coaches that he doesn’t want all the attention around him, but more around the team as a whole. However, rather he likes it or not, Mr. Bridgewater will be one of few names mentioned for the 2013 Heisman Trophy.

Louisville Cardinals QB Teddy Bridgewater dresses in drag

Louisville Cardinals quarterback Teddy Bridgewater became the latest athlete to cross-dress when he posted this photo to his Instagram page. Initially it was thought that he was doing this for his own entertainment, but according to the first comment on Reddit, he did it for a Gender Studies class. In the class, the professor was going to give out extra credit to anyone that did something to break the gender norm, which dressing up as a girl would certainly qualify.
This also explains his Instagram caption of “#STUDIOUS GOTTA DO WHAT YOU GOTTA DO FOR THEM GRADES!!” I’m sure his coaches would agree, last thing they want is their star quarterback becoming ineligible.
