Cubs Interested In Crosby?

The Cubs have some interest in Athletics shortstop Bobby Crosby, the San Francisco Chronicle is reporting. The Cubs have several options up the middle, so the A's would probably need to eat most of his 5.25 million dollar contract. Crosby hit .237 with 7 HR in 145 games for the A's last season, and made 17 errors at shortstop. I expect the Cubs to play this one slow, hoping the A's will release him. Stay tuned.

The Detroit Tigers are in discussion with slugger Miguel Cabrera on a possible contract extension. When reporters asked Cabrera if he'd like a 10-year deal, he responded, "sounds interesting," and when asked if he'd like to be paid $20 million annually, he said, "that sounds good." Twenty four year-olds are evidently intrigued by un-godly sums of money.
