The Steelers need a win to keep within striking distance of the division leader. And they should come into this game hungry. Jerome Harrison will get to Matt Cassel [...]

Questioning Cassel’s Questionable Status

Matt Cassel, our starting QB, is listed as questionable once again with a knee injury. Is this a charade or the truth? If it is not a charade, Brodie Croyle played decently against the Ravens last week. So that begs the question: do you sit Cassel one more week, knowing that Brodie played much better [...]

The Chiefs' performance against the Ravens was a pleasant surprise. I don't know if I have ever been less excited about watching a Chiefs' game than I was going into Sunday. I thought the Ravens were going to wax the Chiefs. When I heard that Matt Cassel was inactive for the game, I almost couldn't bring myself to watch the game. As the game started, I remember turning to my friend and saying "here we go again," as I buried my head in my hands. The Chiefs' offens...

Sit Him Or Start Him?

According to Chiefs beat writer Kent Babb, Matt Cassel (knee) is still looking a little gimpy.
Cassel practiced Thursday and likely will play Sunday. But Babb said Cassel was running with a limp during hurry-up drills. Playing in Baltimore isn’t a good time to be limping around.

QB Cassel may not be ready for Chiefs opener

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel's status for Saturday's game at Baltimore is still up in the air.

Cassel was in full pads for the second time this week on Wednesday, though he didn't participate in all the drills because of an injured left knee.

Cassel was injured in Kansas City's second preseason game on Aug. 29, when he was pulled down from behind by Seattle's Brandon Mebane.

Irony, Thy Name Is Cassel: Chiefs QB Goes Down With Left Leg Injury

In case you've somehow forgotten how Matt Cassel became a star in the first place -- it all started when Patriots QB Tom Brady took a hit low in a Week 1 game against Kansas City last year, injuring his left knee.Cassel inherited the Pats' quarterback job and ran with it after that, parlaying his one season as a starter into a six-year, $63 million contract with the same Kansas City squad. And, despite an up-and-down preseason, Cassel -- in large part because of the amount of money ow...
