It's only appropriate that Buffalo Bills interim head coach Perry Fewell's first game as an NFL head coach would be against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fewell broke into the NFL as a coach with the Jaguars organization in 1998. Let's take a closer look at the Bills' new leader.

Rams Cut Chavous - Finally!

The Rams have cut Corey Chavous today, long overdue as the Rams Gab whipping boy was frequently out of position when on the field and frequently in the right place for the cameras to catch him when he was not on the field. Hopefully, the Rams can find a replacement that can tackle running backs [...]

Rams make Five Changes on Defense

According to Bill Coats at Around the Horns blog on Stltoday.com, the Rams will have five new starters on defense in week 4.? I'll quote Bill, and then give my reactions to each one.
*Cornerback?Fakhir Brown,?who started in?Tye Hill's?place Sunday at Seattle, was released Wednesday morning. Hill was back in the lineup at practice.
*Clifton Ryan?was at defensive tackle, replacing?La'Roi Glover.
*Victor Adeyanju?was at defensive end, in?James Hall's?spot. (We don't know yet whetherLeonard Little?will be healthy enough to play this week.) Adeyanju was on the left side, with?Chris Long?back on the right side.
*Chris Draft?was at strongside linebacker, taking over for?Quinton Culberson.
First, Hill lacks confidence, but he will not get this confidence on the sidelines.? He needs to be in the lineup and he will be able to get his confidence back as he starts to play better.? Additionally, the Rams do not have any corners that are better than Hill, so it is in their best interest to help him turn it around
Second, Clifton Ryan was a breakout and suprising rookie last year, but he hasn't seen much of the field this year.? I applaud this move as Ryan has a very high ceiling and was playing well at the end of 2007.? Glover additionally will be fresher if he is brought on to spell Ryan.
Third, Adeyanju is very good against the run and in Hall's two plus games, he was never heard from.? It makes sense to start Adeyanju based on the Rams problems against the run so far this season.
And lastly, I am certainly a supporter of Quinton Culberson, but for now Draft will be able to play much more solid at the strong side linebacker position.? The Rams defense needs solid and consistent play, and Draft will be able to provide it better than Culberson.
Beyond these moves, the only other move I would make would be to replace Corey Chavous. ?However, Chavous's backup is Todd Johnson, who is a spectacular special teams player, but unproven in the starting strong safety role.? Lacking a good option, Chavous does not yet have to be replaced.
Also, kudos to the Rams coaching staff for making changes.? Now, let's see how they turn out against a solid and up and coming Buffalo Bills team.

Rams Vote For Captains, Sign Players

The Rams reduced the number of team captains from nine to five yesterday and then voted for five players to serve in that role.? On offense, Marc Bulger and receiver Torry Holt are captains while Will Witherspoon and Corey Chavous will lead the defense.? Safety Todd Johnson has been elected the captain of the special teams.? Off the field, the Rams signed cornerback Ricky Manning and came to terms with linebacker Gary Stills.? Manning arrived in St. Louis from Chicago after being cut by the Bears.? Stills was released by Baltimore where he excelled on special teams.? To make room on the roster for Manning, the Rams released defensive back Eric Bassey.? An additional player will be released in order to make room for Stills.

Team MVP: Steven Jackson - Have you heard of Marshall Faulk, Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson? These are all NFL running backs that had career years while Al Saunders was their teams offensive coordinator. There is no doubt that Steven Jackson will be the player that makes this team tick in 2008. Jackson is going to have a monster year, and everything is going to revolve around him. Jackson will be the focal point of the media and fans alike. Love him or hate him he is one of the top 5 running...

Get Donald Trump in the Rams' front office

Now that the Rams' season is over, we can examine which players didn't quite live up to expectations. Release them, trade them, do whatever, but these guys should no longer be suiting up in the blue-and-gold. Mr. Trump, if you would: "You're fired!"
