Dallas Cowboys Bank on Terry Glenn

Without a wide receiver drafted this weekend, it seems Jerry Jones is banking on Terry Glenn as the receiver who will take some of the pressure of Terrell Owens.

Forget about trades and rumors and the "what ifs" because right now, all we have is Terry Glenn and Patrick Crayton.

We've all talked since Sunday afternoon about how the Dallas Cowboys passed on Mario Manningham and Andre Caldwell for some unknown reason. But am I the only one who realizes just how important it is to provide another threat on the other side of Owens?

Spending Less Can Lead To More For Dallas Cowboys

This is one time where less is definitely more.

The salary cap-strapped Dallas Cowboys don't need to spend money on players in free agency just so they can say they added a player or two.

Jerry and Stephen Jones are playing this one just right. They're doing nothing.

The Cowboys have a nice roster, which is how they sent a record number of players to the Pro Bowl last season, and they have two first-round draft picks in April. There's no need at all for the Cowboys to force the issue.

They didn't need to spend big money on average players like Bernard Berrian. Or even top-notch players like Asante Samuel. Let alone marginal players like D.J. Hackett.

Dallas had its version of free agency when it signed Flozell Adams and Ken Hamlin to contracts early in the free-agency process. If that's all they get done, then so be it.

If teams aren't careful, free agency creates more problems than it solves because there are so many busts. The Cowboys have learned this over the years.

So, they're being cautious. It will pay off down the road.

Dallas Cowboys 2007 Fantasy Review

It was a banner season in the big D, both in terms of team performance and, most importantly, to all of us fantasy junkies. No less than three members of the offense were near the top of the class at their respective positions, and the best part about it? All were likely found at somewhat bargain prices in pre-season drafts. With the club entering the off-season with little turmoil or turnover likely, there is much to look forward to, but unfortunately, those garage sale prices are toast.

2008 Fantasy Football Mock Draft: Rounds 7-9

The 2007 fantasy football season may be over, but it's already time to be thinking about 2008. The Fantasy Football Experts are already hard at work completing a 2008 Fantasy Football Mock Draft.

Here are the contestants:
1. Rob Shaw, Lead Expert for FantasyFanatics.com
2. Dan Cypra, Marketing Director for FantasyFanatics.com
3. Phil Jean, Fantasy Football Expert for FantasyFanatics.com

The rules are simple:
1. This is a standard Yahoo scoring league.
2. Each Expert is responsible for four teams, so there are 12 total teams in the league.
3. Rookies were not eligible to be drafted since their NFL teams and use are unknown.
4. Each roster consists of one quarterback, three wide receivers, two running backs, one tight end, one kicker, and one defense.
5. There are 13 rounds total.

Here are Rounds 7-9!

Did Patrick Crayton Lie on the Michael Irvin Show?

With 21 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the Dallas Cowboys were losing to the Giants by four points. The Cowboys were on the 23 yard line. The ball was snapped and within three seconds Tony Romo threw a pass to Patrick Crayton. The pass was about a yard out of Crayton's reach. So close. But on the replay, you see Crayton hesitating to run the full route. He stops for a split second. If he doesn't do that, the pass very well could have been completed and the game is over.

Crayton, who pretty much guaranteed the Cowboys would win, avoided talking to the press until today on the Michael Irvin Show. He was asked about that route and if it was intended to be a "9 route."

"No it wasn't. It was actually a seven route that I kind of adjusted. I didn't think I was going to be able to get on the corner (Corey Webster) quite as easily, on top of him. A seven route is about a 16-17 yard out route. As I got on top of him, I was able to get his arm down, and I got on top of him and I was like 'should I break out and let him sit underneath or go ahead and go?' That slight hesitation cost me that extra yard I probably needed."

Now, let's watch the video of that play:

At least he beat the Jets

Hey Cowboy fans, you can still take glee in Tony Romo's 339 yard, 3 touchdown game against the Rams in Week 4 of the regular season right? After all, you inducted him into the Hall of Fame all season due to his regular season statistics.

Good in depth look at what went wrong for the Cowboys yesterday. Looks at QB, Running backs, Linebackers, D-line, TE's, wR'S, special team and the like.

"Not that I keep up with this type of stuff, but I'm pretty sure I could break a word count record on Uwe Blog today.

The Dallas Cowboys lost 21-17 today against the New York Giants.

There were so many fuck-ups and dumb moves and decisions to stun a mastadon."

NAIA players on NFL playoff rosters

Patrick Crayton, Derrick Ward, and Tyronne Gross are living the dream of the small school athlete. The three, from Northwestern Oklahoma State, Ottawa (Kan.) University, and Eastern Oregon University (my alum), respectively, are proof that good ball is played at all levels and sometimes guys get missed by the big time programs.

Playoff Fantasy Football for `07

For some fantasy footballers, the mourning period has set in, as next year's drafts seem so far away. However, there is an option for those who wish to prolong, and perhaps redeem, their fantasy season before September: Playoff Fantasy Football. FIO staff writer Rich Lerner discusses some of the ins and outs of Playoff Fantasy Football and lists the Top 25 for this season.

Defense Dominates Cowboys

Maybe Andy Reid is not so delusional.

The Eagles who are hanging on to their improbable playoff hopes by a tiny thread gave it their all today. There was no quit in this team. They did not just lay down, and get ready to golf. They came out ready to kick some ass, and they did. Especially the Eagles defense.

This was the most impressive defensive effort this team has had all season. They pressured Romo, hit him, and sacked him four times. Linebackers filled their gaps, and gang tackled Marion Barber. The defense intercepted Romo three times, and stripped the ball from him twice. The same guys who could not get off the field in the first Cowgirls match up, allowed only one third down conversion all game.

The Wire: Week 14

Wow, I'm glad I'm a Patriots fan and not a Ravens fan after last nights game. Imagine the feeling those players had when they thought they had the game won…then realized that one of their coaches had called a time out? Ouch! Alright, that's enough rubbing it in. I was definitely on an emotional roller coaster watching that one though…let's hope the rest of their undefeated season is a lot less exciting (as they return to blowing out teams!) Anyways, the playoffs start this week in most leagues, so hopefully you have earned a spot in your league's tournament. In case you're in search of some last minute players to snag off the waiver wire that could help your team advance, here you go…

NFL Tragedies and Triumph... Week 13

Welcome back to ATS as a lot of great sports talk was covered on this broadcast. Some highs and lows have been featured in the last couple of weeks, but the show must go on! And I hope you all enjoy the show as much as I enjoy hosting, producing, editing, and eventually posting it! The next couple of weeks will be a major brainstorm on some major ideas to make this show even better and more listener-friendly! Remember, "For the Listeners, By the Listeners!"

A Loss at 24
The NFL lost a great young player at the age of 24 this past week. Sean Taylor was shot over the week, and eventually passed away at the hospital. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Taylor family, the NFL, and the Washington Redskins.

One and Done
As quick as running back Ricky Williams returned to the NFL, he left for the season! The Bears also lost a major contributor to their run game.

Two Young Studs Traded
The Devil Rays and the Twins swapped two very good young players this week, enhancing both teams, as well as hurting their teams in different areas.

Where is Johan Headed?
Two teams remain in the Johan Santana sweepstakes. Find out what the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees are willing to give up in order to gain the services of this stud pitcher.

Mets Give Up at "Last"!
Once thought of as the next great prospect, outfielder Lastings Milledge was traded for average players, even when the Mets needed to fill a rightfield void.

More Free Agent Moves
Kaz Matsui, Troy Percial, and Randy Wolf all have moved on to different teams via free agency. Find out where!

Sits and Starts
Fix your fantasy lineups thanks to some last second news and notes in the world of Fantasy Football.

Listen live on Sundays at 11am EST. Call-ins are encouraged at (718) 664-6559. Listen live at www.blogtalkradio.com/tmoneysports.

And as always, send in your sports question for Money Mailbag by simply filling out the form on the side of the page. In turn, T-Money will answer your questions on an up coming edition of Around the Spectrum: LIVE.

....kills T.O. owners that is.

With fantasy playoffs just around the corner....the last thing T.O. owners need is Patrick Crayton getting all healthy and scoring touchdowns and stuff.

A healthy Patrick Crayton is bad for the T.O. touchdown bidnez.
