Bengals worked out Joey Galloway, Ed Johnson and Mike Doss Tuesday

While the signing of Larry Johnson, and to smaller degree the release of Ben Utecht, were Tuesday's primary headlines, the Bengals weren't through, just yet. On Tuesday, the Bengals worked out three other players; wide receiver Joey Galloway, safety Mike Doss and defensive lineman Ed Johnson. He was released by the Indianapolis in October because he lacked production. In Joey Galloway's case, he just never caught on with the Patriots. Mike Doss, who played for Cincinnati at th...

11/17: And the news keeps on coming

And in order to possibly bolster their roster, the Bengals had WR Joey Galloway, S Mike Doss and DT Ed Johnson in for tryouts tryouts.
Considering the recent season-ending injuries to Chris Henry and Roy Williams, the tryouts of Galloway and Doss are intriguing. Galloway was released by the Patriots last month, but could provide some sort of deep [...]

A look at some notable players selected in UFL Draft

So the United Football League held a draft yesterday and I'm sure you've been hanging on the edge of your seat to see the results. According to Chris Mortensen (so who knows if it's really true) each team had already signed 20 players and this draft was to fill out the rosters with remaining players available who had worked out in Orlando and Las Vegas.

Notable players selected (and by notable I mean guys you may have heard of) include:

Las Vegas
- Adam Archuleta, LB/S
- A...

Tuesday Thoughts

Chris Perry along with 5 other players were cut yesterday in order to make room for the players drafted this past weekend. While I was never a huge Perry fan, we did waste a 1st round pick on him and I always wished eh would succeed and become a franchise back if not a 3rd down option…yet that never came to be. With his release his fate as an NFL rusher is pretty much sealed. One of the 5 other players cut was an OSU favorite of mine, Mike Doss. I don’t quite understand this move as we didn’t draft a safety at all to fill the void left by his release. While Trent Morgan was drafted at cornerback, I don’t see him as a potential safety option what so ever. Doss’s release has led to some speculation that this means Roy Williams will be signed, yet I highly doubt we will move in that direction.Continue reading "Tuesday Thoughts"

Robin Sports NFL Guide: Minnesota Vikings Preview

The Vikings return for 2007 after a disappointing 2006 campaign. Coach Childress is entering his second season at the helm and has made some solid personnel decisions this off-season. The problem at QB is glaring, but the addition of Peterson to complement Taylor and the fact that the Vikes boast one of the best O-lines in the league will help whichever of the inexperienced slingers earns the job. The Vikes defense made long strides last season and should be just as effective this season.....Continue reading by clicking on the URL!
