But since then, he has battled injuries as well as problems at the plate. He has been in Triple-A already, but it is possible he could make the bench for the Rays.

Morgan Ensberg, Joining the Farm

With all of this talk regarding the Indians and the potential to be the future owners of former members of the New York Yankees, I present to you the ironically-timed announcement from the Indians Media Relations department:

The Cleveland Indians announced they have signed 3B MORGAN ENSBERG to a minor league contract and assigned him to the AAA Buffalo Bisons. Ensberg, 32, played in 28 games this year for the New York Yankees batting .203 (15-74) with 6 runs scored, a HR and 4RBI before be...

Morgan Ensberg still asking self why he didn't shave for three weeks

The only logical explanation behind this picture is that Morgan Ensberg, much like us, greatly misses Peter Vecsey's old look and this is some sort of rally cry for him to grow the beard back.

ARod out with strained quad

Alex Rodriguez left today's game against the Baltimore Orioles due to a strained right quad. The injury happened in the top of the 6th inning as A-Rod was running down the first base line. He pulled up lame about 3/4 way down the line holding his thigh.

The Paul O'Neill Worshipping Must Stop

Well, this week, LaTroy Hawkins succumbed to pressure from New York Yankees fans who felt No. 21 still belonged to Paul O'Neill and switched to No. 22 when the team began a two-game series against the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday night.

"What can I say? The fans have always been unbelievable to me there," O'Neill said in a telephone interview from his home in Ohio. "I don't really know how to explain it. It makes you feel good that the fans still think of you as ...

Hawkins Will Wear No. 21

Evidently it's premature to put away your outrage, Yankee fans. Diehards of the Bombers were indignant this spring when non-roster invitee Morgan Ensberg was granted the No. 21 during spring training. No Yankee had donned the number since Paul O'Neill, and it had widely been assumed that the franchise would eventually retire it. However, crisis seemed to be averted when Ensberg changed uniform numbers upon making the team, switching to No. 11 and stating, "I'm not taking Paul O"Neill's number."

LaTroy Hawkins, however, has no such qualms, and the reliever snatched up No. 21 while it was still warm.

Yankees Make Up For Not Trading For Johan….

by signing Morgan Ensberg. I'm obviously kidding, but I think this is a good signing for the Yanks. Ensberg is very much a wild card, but could hit 25 homeruns and end up the starting first baseman with Giambi transitioning back to the DH and Cabrera being traded for pitching help or being a 4th OF.

Morgan Ensberg to the Padres?

Easily an upgrade over the platoon of Geoff Blum and Vinny Castilla...even if he's on the DL. No word on who the Astros would look for in return.
