Dolphins Most Underrated Offseason Move: Re-signing QB Matt Moore

Fresh off their best offseason in recent memory, the Miami Dolphins look to make the transition from overachievers in 2012 to contenders in 2013.

a Dolphin this offseason.

The Dolphins have certainly bolstered the roster with the additions of wide receivers Mike Wallace and Brandon Gibson and linebackers Philip Wheeler and Dannell Ellerbee among others. But while the new acquisitions rightfully stole the headlines, there was one very significant signing lost in the mix and it was that of quarterback Matt Moore.

After a 6-3 finish to 2011 in which Moore threw three times as many touchdowns as interceptions, many projected Moore to be the starter in Miami in 2012. But after losing the starting job to rookie Ryan Tannehill, Moore had to settle for the job as Tannehill's backup.

One common theory was Moore was a bad fit for Mike Sherman's offense, but Moore proved that he could still add value even if it ca...

Laura Tannehill (Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill's Wife) Further Proves Her Awesomeness

A lot of guys like to look for certain things in their significant others. For some it is all about the looks. Others want to have more of a cerebral connection. Some want a person that can make them laugh and hang out like one of the guys while others (sadly) want to marry someone just like Mom.

Few are as lucky as Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Not only is Laura gorgeous (and I'm going to assume they click personality wise since they are married), but she can hang with the guys as well as any macho man can.

Just check out the fish she caught at a recent charity fishing tournament.

With the additions the Miami Dolphins made to their offense I'd say life at work is going to be just as awesome for Ryan as it is at home!

Dolphins debut upgraded offense at OTA

DAVIE, Fla. -- New Miami Dolphins tight end Dustin Keller sounded pleasantly surprised when giving his impression of quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

"Tannehill has the ability to take a firm grasp on the offense and change a lot of things up," Keller said Tuesday. "That's what you want. You want a guy who has the ability to do anything. That's what the Tom Bradys, the Peyton Mannings are allowed do.

"Its just really cool they give him that much leeway.

The Dolphins also have given Tannehill a revamped receiving corps.

Keller, wide receivers Mike Wallace and Brandon Gibson have joined Brian Hartline to form an improved unit that should help upgrade Miami's passing attack. Tannehill and his receivers worked against defenders for the first time during this week's organized training activities (OTA).

"We're still learning but I'm excited by what I see from those guys," Tannehill said of his receivers. "They're all getting a grasp on the offense and

This past weekend in South Florida, the Dolphins celebrated Fins Weekend which included various activities, all for charity. The events included a golf tournament, fishing tournament, and various banquet type soirees. This coming Monday, the Dolphins take the field for OTAs with a brand new 53 man roster and various undrafted free agents working to land a spot on the team. With so many fresh faces on the Dolphins team, it's no wonder that players on the Dolphins are using Fins Weekend as a team buidling event.

Last week the focus in media circles, centered on certain Dolphins playing fortune teller. The week began with Brian Hartline setting the tone with talk of the Dolphins having the best receivers in the AFC East. Hartline, as you remember re-signed with the Dolphins before free agency because of the potential of the Dolphins reeling in some big names the following week. Later that week, Ryan Tannehill, first round pick in 2012, beamed about h...

Ryan Tannehill on Mike Wallace: “He’s the fastest guy I’ve ever thrown to”

Photo from MiamiDolphins.com
Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill was blown away with Mike Wallace’s speed that he asked him to go half-speed while practicing.
“I am going half speed,” Wallace responded, per Tannehill.
“Everything I heard about him coming in has proved to be true – he’s as advertised,” Tannehill said, per the Miami Herald. “He’s the fastest guy I’ve ever thrown to. It’s exciting.”
Tannehill had a pretty good rookie year with average wide receivers last season. I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do with a dynamic player like Wallace.

Ryan Tannehill: Mike Wallace Is The Fastest Guy I’ve Ever Thrown To

Ryan Tannehill showed great flashes as a rookie, but needed some weapons to fully expand his game. Dolphins brass listened and went out and got Tannehill a sports car of a receiver in Mike Wallace.
The Dolphins gave Wallace top dollar, and so far Tannehill is impressed by what he’s seen. Tannehill has got in a few workouts with Wallace and is elated.
“Everything I heard about him coming in has proved to be true – he’s as advertised,” Tannehill told theMiami Herald. “He’s the fastest guy I’ve ever thrown to. It’s exciting.”
Tannehill is quoted as saying that when they first started working together, Tannehill threw Wallace a few passes and then asked Wallace to slow down to half speed while they got their timing right.
Wallace replied to Tannehill, “I am going half speed.”

Ryan Tannehill is blown away by new receivers

The Miami Dolphins have been in the news for business reasons as of late.
The issues surrounding their stadium situation has clouded the fact that they easily be the AFC’s most improved team.
In fact, they may be a dark horse candidate to snatch the AFC East crown from a wounded New England Patriots squad.
We’re not ready to commit to that assessment yet as camps and the preseason must conclude before we go into prediction mode.
So far so good, as quarterback Ryan Tannehill is enamored with his new wide receivers.

Ryan Tannehill: the Question and Answer for the Miami Dolphins

How well will the Miami Dolphins do this season?

It's one simple question, but there are so many possibilities. So many different things could go right or wrong for the Dolphins. It's impossible to know what will really happen.

The truth, though, is the above question isn't even the right question to ask. The real question is actually also the answer to the question above (am I making sense here?). The real question is this:

How well will Ryan Tannehill perform this season?

That's the real question, because how well he does will dictate how well Miami does. A quarterback is so crucially important that even if you surround a poor one with a top-shelf group of players you will still struggle to be successful. Miami has brought in loads of talent on both sides of the ball, but if Ryan Tannehill isn't able to hold up his end of the bargain then none of it will matter.

Please, Ryan, save me

It's almost unfair to put that much pressure on a se...

Dolphins pass on Ryan Swope for a kicker?

Texas A&M fans know the connection Miami Dolphins Ryan Tannehill had with Ryan Swope. Swope was Tannehill’s escape value at A&M, because when everyone else was covered, Swope was open. So it’s no wonder why as the 2013 NFL draft closed in that many draft analysts mocked Tannehill to the Dolphins. The drum beat became even louder when the Dolphins traded away Davone Bess to the Cleveland Browns, but when the Dolphins had their best shot to draft Swope at 166 in the fifth-round...
Brian Hartline loves Miami's offense

The Miami Dolphins were arguably the winners of free agency this offseason, netting a bevy of high-profile players in a way reminiscent of the Eagles' 2011 "Dream Team" haul.
Several of those splashes were made on the offensive side of the ball, with receivers Mike Wallace and Brandon Gibson and tight end Dustin Keller coming aboard.
These moves have prompted wideout Brian Hartline to form huge expectations.
"Championship offense," Hartline told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel on Tuesday. "I think we got every move we needed to make. We probably could add some depth at certain positions, but we've got all the pieces to the car, now we've just got to put it all together."
The 26-year-old Hartline is coming off a career year in which he recorded 74 catches for 1,083 yards and a touchdown. Miami thought enough of him to lock him up with a five-year deal worth nearly $31 million.
Hartline developed a solid rapport with quarterback Rya...

Report: Brandon Albert looking for Jake Long money

According to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, Chiefs’ left tackle Brandon Albert will only land with the Dolphins if he is willing to lower his current asking price of $8 million-$9 million a year. This is only going to happen if the price on Albert – particularly the $8 million-$9 million a year it’s believed he’s seeking in a long-term deal – comes down significantly. Albert is a franchise player, which comes with a one-year, $9.8 million base. Kansas City would love to get a second-round pick for him, clearing the way for the Chiefs to take Luke Joeckel at No. 1 overall and then get another player rather than take Joeckel and then lose Albert to free agency after the season. The problem for the Chiefs is that this move is actually counterintuitive for the Dolphins, who already let Jake Long leave for less than what Albert is looking to make. While Long has a longer laundry list of injuries (knee, elbow, biceps, back), Albert has also dealt with a back problem. To overpay for Albert an...

The merits of Branden Albert to the Miami Dolphins

Jeff Ireland has a reputation for being a man who doesn’t like to take a lot of risks. Even the selection of Ryan Tannehill in 2012 was a risky pick in the eyes of the mainstream draft experts, but Ireland had Tannehill’s Head Coach from Texas A&M in Mike Sherman on his payroll. Ireland knew more about Tannehill than most of the teams in the NFL, and the decision to take him eighth overall was a risky pick to outsiders, but was a safe pick in the Dolphins draft room...
