C Plumlee returns to Pacers from D-League

The Indiana Pacers recalled center Miles Plumlee on Monday after sending the rookie to its NBA Developmental League team last week. Before he was shipped to Fort Wayne for a second time this season, Plumlee had seen little playing time in four games with the Pacers, totaling four points and five rebounds. Plumlee, a 6-foot-10 Indiana native who played college ball at Duke, was the 26th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft.

Although this clip is a month or so old, watching Indiana Pacers forward Miles Plumlee ride a unicycle is awesome on so many levels.Watch as Miles shows off his unicycle skills during a Indiana Pacers fan event:To note, Miles has shown off this skill in college when he was playing for Duke University:

Pacers rookie Miles Plumlee is a unicycle dancing madman (VIDEO)

A lot of stuff that goes down during the NBA preseason is of the fluff variety, designed solely for the amusement of the season ticket holders. For example, the Pacers held a dance-off at a fan friendly event recently, and while on the competitors were better at rug cutting than you or I, it was rookie Miles Plumlee who stole the show with his unicycle dancing to that classic wedding staple, the Cha Cha Slide.
And who does Sam Young think he is with that side somersault? Looks nice and all but pales in comparison to seeing a 6-foot-11, 255-pound behemoth deftly maneuver a one-wheeled bicycle. No idea on how Plumlee became so proficient at riding a unicycle, but seeing that he did go to Duke, I’ll just assume it was one of his elective courses.*
*UK fan still bitter about the 1992 NCAA East Regional Finals

Indiana Pacers : NBA Offseason (draft, trades, and free agency)

Indiana: NBA Draft Grade D
(26) Miles Plumlee, PF; (36) Orlando Johnson, SG
Most of the 1st round had no shocking picks until the Pacers took Plumlee with the 26th pick in the 1st round. Plumlee is a beast in workouts because his strength and athletic ability really shows but when it’s game time you don’t see any of that. Last year at Duke he only averaged 6.6 points per game. Plumlee could be a very good backup center but is that what you pick for at 26th overall?
Johnson, was one of the best scorers in the nation the past couple years in college. He could be a very good bench player.
Offseason/ Free Agents and Trades: Grade B+
-Portland offered Roy Hibbert a four-year contract worth $58 Million. The Pacers matched that offer by the Trail Blazers. This is a key resigning for the Pacers to keep their talented young center.
- The Pacers resigned guard George Hill to a new five year contract.
- The Pacers traded guards Darren Collison and Dahntay Jones to the Dallas Maver...

Scout's Take: Miles Plumlee

There weren't a lot of analysts projecting former Duke big man Miles Plumlee as a first round pick. However, after a number of big time workouts the 6'11 PF continued Duke's tradition of placing post players in the league. TDD sat down with one of the Pacers' top scouts recently to find out why the organization was so happy to select the eldest Plumlee.

Miles Plumlee dunks over Fab Melo

It’s a slow sports day when I find myself posting highlights from the NBA summer league. Anywho, in a fierce, nasty battle sleeper between the Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics summer league teams, ex-Dukie/current Pacer Miles Plumlee showed former Syracuse/current Celtic headache Fab Melo that white men can indeed jump.
Summer league teams are mostly comprised of guys who probably won’t stick in the league. And judging by the call of this Plumlee dunk, they’re called by announcers who won’t stick either.

New York:
(48) Kostas Papanikolaou, SF
The Knicks fans waited late in the second round for the Knicks to pick but they should have gone home early. As soon as this pick was announced the Knicks fans started booing. If Papanikolaou ever suits up it won’t be for a couple of year because of his overseas contract.

POTD Summer League Edition: Miles Plumlee on Sean Williams, and Fab Melo

Miles Plumlee, the 26th overall pick of the Indiana Pacers, is yet to play in an official NBA game, but he’s already getting busy defying stereotypes at the Orlando Summer League. Plumlee is one of those dudes who serves as proof that a book truly should not be judged by its cover. You look at the guy, and if he was a foot shorter you’d figure he’s never picked up a basketball in his life (considering his haircut, I’d have guessed his favorite hobbies include sailing, wine tasting, and big game hunting). However, Plumlee is actually leading Indiana’s summer squad in blocks, and he’s second in points and rebounds. He’s shown a fair bit of athleticism in the process of collecting these digits, too. In yesterday’s loss to the Celtics he elevated for a one-hander over the high-flying Sean Williams, then gave shot-blocking prospect Fab Melo the business with two hands.

Well damn, Miles Plumlee, those were a couple of man’s jams! I’d say it’s time for a buzz… that schoolboy cut

Miles Plumlee impressing in NBA Summer League

While some have expressed their doubts about the Indiana Pacers selecting Miles Plumlee with the 26th pick in the NBA draft, the only returns that matter are what the eldest son of Perky and Lisa Plumlee produce on the basketball court. So far, he has proved those doubters wrong. Miles put up 18 points and 8 rebounds for the Indiana Pacers yesterday and served up two facial dunks to boot. Watch them below:

Catch the most recent Duke big man to play in the pros throughout the Summer League on NBATV. The Pacers play tomorrow at 3 PM and Friday at 2 PM.
