I know some teams believe the biggest advantage of the Cowboys playing on Thanksgiving is the 10-day break - normally - that can almost serve as a second bye. The Times-Picayune is reporting that the Saints have come to terms on a three-year deal with kicker Taylor Mehlhaff. The former Wisconsin kicker is expected to battle Martin Gramatica for the starting kicker spot. He was a first-team All-American and also was a finalist for the Lou Groza award back in 2007.

According to the Times Picayune, the Saints will audition at least three kickers today because of Mare's inconsistency and uncertainty regarding his groin injury: Mike Vanderjagt, Martin Gramatica and Billy Cundiff. Mare, who strained his right groin during practice last week, has missed 4 of 7 field goals this season. Can't kick on dirt, can't kick in a dome, not sure he can kick anywhere other than a kickoff.
