Panthers Sign Travelle Wharton to a 6 Year Contract

According to the Charlotte Observer and the NFL Network, the Carolina Panthers have supposedly signed tackle Travelle Wharton to a 6 year contract. This move comes to a surprise to some fans as many felt that the main emphasis would be in resigning Jordan Gross to a contract first. However, with the releasing of Mike Wahle, this signing may indicate the Panthers will move Wharton to the left guard position (his more natural position) and still consider drafting a left tackle during the draft. Carolinasportsnet will report more information as it becomes available.
