Sabathia to the Brewers almost a reality

I can't believe the course of events that are taking place, but it appears that CC Sabathia is going to be a Brewer. The only thing that is crazier than that is that it may happen before the end of the weekend.

The Indians have been scouting the Brewers Minor League system and they may be ready to unload the reigning Cy Young winner. Names that keep popping up going to Cleveland in return for Sabathia are Matt LaPorta, Taylor Green and Alcides Escobar.

Two Future Brewers to Headline All-Star Game

The upcoming MLB Futures Game, the annual All-Star game for the Minor Leagues, will be headlined by two Stars. Huntsville Stars, in fact. Third baseman Mat Gamel and right fielder Matt LaPorta, two future Milwaukee Brewers, who could be called up as soon as next season, will take the field at Yankee Stadium on Sunday, July 13th as members of Team USA.

Over the past few seasons, the Brewers have had a handful of stars in the Futures Game, including pitcher Yovani Gallardo, left fielder Ryan Braun and shortstop Alcides Escobar.

For those of you curious, assuming the Crew keeps their youngsters together, they could have a very tough lineup next season…

GNUru Mailbag: Hoard Hamels?

The GNUru advises a loyal reader on what to do regarding an enticing trade he was offered....

I'm in a 16 team, standard CBS, head-to-head, keeper league and was offered Brad Penny and Kelvim Escobar for Cole Hamels. I am pretty weak at Starting Pitching and the 2 quality pitchers for 1 sounds appealing but I am hesistant to deal Hamels. Any insight into this trade would be appreciated.
