It's the defense:

Georgia didn't just do it with offense in this game, it was the defense that bowed up against Ole Miss. In their first four drives, the Rebels had 173 yards. On their final 12 drives, they put together just 74 yards of offense. The Georgia defense stopped the Rebels, caused turnovers and even got a safety as they continued the solid play from their victory over Florida.
Georgia played some of their best football of the season as they are just one game away from back-to-back trips to the SEC Championship Game and only Auburn (2-7) standing between them and the Georgia Dome.

How the game was won:

Ole Miss jumped out to an early lead, but Georgia used a 40-yard touchdown pass from Murray to Tavarres King with 3 seconds left in the first half to take a 14-10 lead at intermission. It was all Bulldogs after that a...

Ole Miss shut down in 37-10 loss to No. 7 Georgia

Mississippi's offense had been on a roll before facing Georgia's talented defense.

Mississippi's two-game winning streak under first-year coach Hugh Freeze ended as the Rebels were held to their fewest points of the season in Saturday's 37-10 loss to No. 7 Georgia.

Georgia's defense, coming off last week's 17-9 win over then-No. 3 Florida, held Ole Miss to 234 yards, including only 55 in the second half.

Jeff Scott led Ole Miss with just 21 yards rushing on 13 carries.

''It was obviously a pretty good beating that Georgia put on us today,'' Freeze said. ''Obviously, we just couldn't make any plays to give our defense much hope. It was the first time this season that I felt like we were zapped of our passion.''

Ole Miss (5-4, 2-3 Southeastern Conference) scored a combined 71 points in consecutive wins over Auburn and Arkansas in its last two games. It took a 10-0 lead over Georgia in the second quarter but was shut out from there.

No. 7 Georgia 37, Mississippi 10

One of Mark Richt's oldest trick plays gave Georgia the lift it needed to remain on track for a shot at the SEC title.

Aaron Murray threw four touchdown passes and No. 7 Georgia overcame a slow start to beat Mississippi 37-10 on Saturday and move one win away from a spot in the Southeastern Conference championship game.

Georgia (8-1, 6-1 SEC) trailed 10-0 before scoring 37 unanswered points. The Bulldogs can clinch the SEC East title and second straight trip to the conference championship game with a win at Auburn next week.

''We know now it's down to one game to win the right to go back to Atlanta,'' Richt said.

Murray pulled off a fake handoff on a 66-yard touchdown pass to Marlon Brown for the Bulldogs' first points. Richt, in his 12th season as Georgia's coach, said he brought the play from Florida State, where he was offensive coordinator under coach Bobby Bowden.

Murray pulled off the well-executed fake handoff to Todd Gurley, who was swarmed by Ole Miss defenders as
