Polling Place: Tell us who should patrol center field for the Texas Rangers in 2010

On the player acquisition front, it doesn't appear as if the Rangers are doing much other than research while they wait for the ownership picture to become a little more clear and while they wait for the free agent market to establish itself.

That gives us plenty of time to ponder and discuss potential moves. If there is one position on the field - other than the pitchers' mound - that will get significant attention this winter, it's center field. The Rangers must decide whether...

So that’s that. Phillips’ credibility wasn’t considered an issue when he suggested Josh Hamilton was undeserving of a Cincinnati roster spot, nor did anyone at the network raise an eyebrow when Phillips suggested Barry Bonds’ record breaking HR had to occur at home “for the good of baseball”. In the wake of a consensual extramarital [...]

Rangers' Hamilton has another injection in back

Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton received a third injection for a pinched nerve in his back on Friday, and the two-time All-Star won't be available for "at least seven days" according to general manager Jon Daniels.

Hamilton, who missed his seventh consecutive game Friday night against the Seattle Mariners, was in California on Friday for a root-nerve epidural from back specialist Dr. Robert Watkins.

Daniels said he doesn't think Hamilton will be out for the rest...

Hambone gives his first interview since, you know ... that. As you can imagine, ain't nothing gone break his stride or slow him down (oh no) and he's actually playing better than ever. So ... you're welcome? Josh Hamilton spoke to ESPN Radio in Dallas and after giving his usual props to J.C., points out that the jeers have not really gotten worse since the naughty pictures came out. Mostly because the kind of folks who come to a stadium to yell things like "where's the wh...

Josh Hamilton Clears The Air, His Conscience And Pleads "Human"

Thanks to Kevin at Big League Stew for his amazing Twitter updates from the Hamilton press conference, attended by Yahoo's(!) Jeff Passan. Hamilton addressed the photos, apologized, and many of his teammates were in attendance. Hamilton claims he spoke with Rangers GM Jon Daniels about the incident — isolated, of course — and that it happened in January. D Magazine has a direct quote and the story up: "I'm embarrassed about it, personally, for the Rangers, for my wif...

Incriminating photos of recovering drug addict and 2008 Home Run Derby winner hero Josh Hamilton have surfaced via Deadspin this afternoon. None of these pictures show the Texas Rangers slugger smoking crack or actually drinking any booze, but he is slurping whipped cream off a scantily-clad young lady's large breasts...With his shirt off, of course.Kind of a crazy situation for a bible-thumping family man to find himself in, if you ask me.
"I don't put a lot of credence in someone saying they have photographs of Josh in a bar," says Johnny Narron, a special assignment coach with the Rangers and Josh Hamilton's "accountability partner" since 2007. Narron has been at Hamilton's side since their days in Cincinnati (where Narron's brother, Jerry, was the manager).
The Devil Is Still In Josh Hamilton

Josh Hamilton claims he's been sober since October 2005. Since then he's rejuvenated his career, saved his marriage, devoted himself to Jesus, and become America's flawed, homer-derby hero. Last winter, while he was alone in Tempe, Arizona, Hambone kinda slipped.

On October 1st of last year things looked great for Josh Hamilton. The Natural has just finished his first campaign with the Texas Rangers, he had won fans and admiration from his terrific season and his sparkling home run derby production. He had dominated opposing AL pitching to the tune of 130 RBI, 32 Home Runs and a .304 average. He looked as if he had turned the corner and was going to ferever live up to the potential that once made him the top overall pick.On April 1st of this year, Ham...
