Cowboys could easily go 12-4, just as easily fall to 8-8

The final Thanksgiving Day game at Texas Stadium highlighted all the Cowboys have to be thankful for. It all amounted to a 34-9 thumping of the Seattle Seahawks in the Turkey Day classic. The 8-4 Cowboys now have 10 days off before a trip to Pittsburgh that could just as easily put this team over the top as it could send it free falling back to earth.

[click link for Cowboys/Seahawks wrap up]

The Cowboys now face a stretch of four teams with a combined record of 31-13-1 (.700 winning percentage). Three of their final four opponents currently hold playoff spots. Two of them currently hold first-round byes. The "worst" team left on the Cowboys schedule just beat a division leader by 28 points. *gulp*

The way the Cowboys are playing, they could pull together and go 12-4. The way their opponents are playing now, Dallas could wind up 8-8. And there's really no way to predict which way this season will tilt. So the game, duh, must be played on the field. And we must wait and see if the Cowboys really do have what it takes when matched up against the elite teams of the NFL.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Seahawks No Match for Dallas on Thanksgiving in 34-9 Loss

With a healthy Tony Romo back for the Dallas Cowboys, it seems like old times again for Dallas, and on Thanksgiving day the Boys feasted on the Seahawks with a big day on offense in a 34-9 win. Romo, who missed a few games in the middle of the year with a busted little [...]

Studs, Sleepers & Snoozers For Week 13 In The NFL

The Sports Consigliere just finished his sit down with the family and here's his favorite Studs, Sleepers & Snoozers For Week 13 In The NFL! Play Funtasy Football For A Chance To Win $500 This Week - www.funtasyfootball.com

QB

Stud -- Peyton Manning
Manning makes a return trip to the stud spot with a very enticing matchup vs. Cleveland this week. The Browns best defense will be ball control and that's something that their offense isn't very good at, so look for the Colts to do plenty of damage.

Sleeper -- Brett Favre

Favre has been playing fairly well as of late, but he could really break out this week. Denver has been suspect on defense for the majority of the year and the Jets passing game is really starting to open up with the emergence of Dustin Keller.

Snoozer -- Daunte Culpepper

The Culpepper experiment hasn't been awful, but it hasn't been a success either. There is a theory that the Lions always step it up on Thanksgiving Day because it's like their Super Bowl. That's not the case when the Titans defense comes to town.

WR

Stud -- Roddy White

White was relatively quiet on Sunday after several weeks of trying to prove that he's the best receiver in football. This week the Falcons will head to San Diego to take on a very suspect Chargers pass defense.

Sleeper -- Justin Gage

Gage had 2 big weeks, but was a disappointment last week in what should have been a nice matchup. He'll head to Detroit on Thursday, so he should have plenty of chances to find pay dirt.

Snoozer -- Randy Moss

Moss is back on the radar after his 3 TD performance on Sunday, but don't expect the Steelers to leave him in single coverage. Pittsburgh plays the pass very well and even if Cassel has time to throw, Moss won't be willing to risk a big hit from Troy Polamalu.

RB

Stud -- Adrian Peterson

It's tough to figure out what Brad Childress is thinking when it comes to his use of AP, but he always gets his touches in the end. Minnesota takes on a Bears defense that got shredded by Ryan Grant. That's good news for Peterson.

Sleeper -- Chris Johnson

Johnson was a non-factor against a solid Jets rush defense last week, but that's good news for this week. He received only 10 carries so he's well rested for his date with a porous Lions defensive unit.

Snoozer -- Matt Forte

This is a tough spot to list the talented rookie, especially after coming off of a huge game vs. St. Louis. The problem is that he's facing a very solid Vikings defense and the Bears have started to go with other options on the goal line. There are better options this week.

K

Stud -- Matt Bryant

Bryant will maintain his stud status until he proves me wrong. He only notched one field goal last week, but it was a long one. He also racked up a decent amount of extra points. Tampa should have plenty of scoring chances against a weak Saints defense.

Sleeper -- Stephen Gostkowski

The Patriots will certainly have trouble moving the ball against the Steelers, but this feels like one of those games that they can get into FG range and not much further.

Snoozer -- Jason Hanson

Hanson is usually one of the only useful Lions on a given week, but it's hard to imagine the Lions sustaining a drive long enough to get him any chances this week.

Have a Happy & Safe Thanksgiving Everyone!

Week 13 Fantasy Injuries Thursday Ed

The Counselor is IN:

Here are the Week 13 fantasy injuries and my commentary. Starting this week I will start posting a Thursday's edition along with the regular Weekend edition. The Thursday Edition will list injuries for the Thursday's game only.

Thursday's Game

Cardinals:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Cowboys:
TE Martellus Bennett is questionable with an ankle injury. He has been limited in practice this week. He is not a violable option at TE at this point.

QB Tony Romo has a pinky finger injury and is probable. Tony will play. Start him if you have him.

TE Jason Witten is probable with bruised ribs. He is also expected to play on Thursday.

Lions:
RB Kevin Smith is probable with a shoulder injury. He practiced on Wednesday and is expected to play on Thursday.

WR Mike Furrey is suffering from a concussion and is listed as questionable. He was limited in practice this week.

QB Drew Stanton is questionable with a concussion. Last weekend he received some playing time when Cullpepper struggled but he is not expected to play on Thursday.

Eagles:
RB Brian Westbrook is questionable with an knee injury. He practiced on Wednesday after missing practice earlier this week.

RB Correll Buckhalter is suffering from an MCL sprain and is questionable. He is not a good starter even if Westbrook goes down.

Seahawks:
WR Koren Robinson is probable with a knee injury. He fully practiced on Wednesday. He is expected to play.

QB Matt Hasselbeck has a back injury and is probable. He will play this week but I would not start him until he shows one week that he is not rusty.

Titans:
No significant fantasy injuries.

Look for the Weekend update for the rest of the games.

The Counselor is OUT:
