The Humanizing of Andy Reid

You may recall that back in August we reported on Andy Reid's reaction to Eagles linebacker Stewart Bradley's torn ACL being leaked to the media. Reid chided the reporters in attendance at training camp, treating them with less respect than he'd treat his own players. In other words, he was being a typical football coach and a bully.Well, Pro Football Hall of Fame sportswriter Ray Didinger, working for CSN Philly, had seen enough. As we reported, Didinger shot back at Reid, calling...

Antonio Dixon Making Front Office Look Good

This is the only picture of Antonio Dixon as an Eagle. When the Eagles cut quarterback A.J. Feeley, many expected that he would be replaced with a tight end or perhaps a linebacker to compensate for the loss of Stewart Bradley.Instead, the Eagles opted to pick up a little-known rookie defensive tackle out of Miami who had just been waived by a division rival. The Redskins didn't feel as though Antonio Dixon was good enough to make a mediocre roster in Washington, so why would he be able to...

More Eagles injuries: Ingram lost for the season

The regular season can't come soon enough for the Eagles. A few days after losing middle linebacker Stewart Bradley for the season, another Eagle is gone for 2009: rookie tight end Cornelius Ingram. Ingram tore his ACL, the same ACL he tore last year in college, and will require surgery, putting him out for the year. While Ingram's loss won't hurt as much as Bradley's, Ingram was expected to step into the back-up tight end role and be a factor at some point this season. To get...

Why The Eagles Are Fine Without Stewart Bradley

Football is all about controlling the line of scrimmage. On their own, Mike Patterson and Brodrick Bunkley haven't turned into dominating players who frequently penetrate offensive lines and make plays in the backfield. Together though, they have become one of the best defensive tackle tandems in football, refusing to relent at the point of attack, eating up blockers and allowing their teammates to come up with big stops.

They were arguably the two most valuable players in...

Hall of Famer Calls Andy Reid Unprofessional

On Sunday, Eagles middle linebacker Stewart Bradley left practice and reportedly needed an MRI on his knee, which was to take place yesterday. By now you know the news that the Bradley -- slated to start for the Birds this season -- is most likely lost for the year after tearing his ACL.

The news was all over the internet and dominated local sports talk radio coverage yesterday afternoon. Every sports fan in Philadelphia took a respite from first-place baseball to wallow in the pre-season m...

It didn't take long for the Eagles to find a replacement linebacker for Stewart Bradley. According to ProFootballTalk, Matt Wilhelm, who last played for the Chargers, signed a 1 year contract with the Eagles. The Chargers had just released Wilhelm, a 6 year pro, before training camp.Wilhelm is not expected to be a direct replacement for Bradley, nor is he even guaranteed to make the roster. He is a veteran player with some experience, but he has only started 21 games in his NFL career. Wi...

Brian Seltzer of 950 ESPN Radio in Philadelphia is reporting that Eagles linebacker Stewart Bradley suffered a torn ACL during the team’s Flight Night fundraiser practice Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.

Stewart Bradley out for the season

When the Eagles let Brian Dawkins leave to the Denver Broncos, many thought the mantle of defensive leader was going to be passed on to middle linebacker Stewart Bradley. Bradley only just became the starter last season, but he quickly became a steadying presence and showed promising leadership skills. Unfortunately, it looks like the Eagles are going to have to come up with another plan for a defensive leader.According to WIP 610, Bradley may be out for the season after suffering a torn ACL ...

Stewart Bradley Tears ACL

Well, this sucks. Per PFT (via Howard Eskin of 610 WIP), Eagles Flight Night! proved costly. Starting middle linebacker Stewart Bradley heard a “pop.” That pop was a torn ACL. He’s done for the 2009 season.
I hope Omar Gaither is ready to fill the void. You had to know the train of positivity would be [...]

Both players will have MRI tests on Monday. Bradley left the field on his own after getting hurt about halfway through the session. The extent of his injury wasn't immediately known, though trainers appeared concerned.

Bradley, a third-round pick in 2007, had 151 tackles in his first full season as a starter last year.
