Domonique Foxworth Traded to Falcons

It turns out Domonique Foxworth will be traded to the Falcons for a seventh round pick in the 2009 draft. The Falcons hope he can add some experience to the cornerback position. The current starters at the position, Chris Houston and Chevis Jackson, are both entering only their second season as pros.

This seems like a move that makes sense for both teams. The Broncos have a stable of fine players at the CB position and pick up an extra draft pick and the Falcons get an experienced vet to help them during their rebuilding process.

NFL Fines Falcons For Supporting Vick; Contradicts Themselves

Roddy White, Alge Crumpler, DeAngelo Hall, Chris Houston, and Joe Horn have been fined by the NFL for honoring Michael Vick last week. Roddy White lifted his jersey after a touchdown revealing a "free mike vick" message. When Clinton Portis lifted his own jersey with a Sean Taylor tribute message, he received no such fine. OF COURSE Clinton had every right to honor Taylor and he SHOULDN'T have been fined, but the NFL cannot pick and choose who to punish for violating the very same rule. Forcing your beliefs and ideals on others is a slippery slope.

NFL Players Continue To Make It Rain

So I'm just about to go to bed and I'm checking my MySpace to check the Joey from Yonkers blog and the little box said I had an event invitation. What I came upon was an initiation to a party called, I kid you not, the "Special NFL Celebrity Super Extravaganza Back To Camp Party" which will be co-hosted by Falcons draft pick Chris Houston and the 49ers Tarell Brown. Some "Invited VIP guests" consist of 2006 1st overall pick Mario Williams, the Raiders Michael Huff, Rocky Bernard of the Seahawks and Alex Barron of the Rams. The best part of the whole thing, which takes place on July 14th at Ringers Sports Lounge in Austin, Texas, is that the flier for the party guarantees a "Let It Rain Power Hour" where "cash will be falling from everywhere". I'm sure Roger Goodell is doing cartwheels over this right now. Somewhere in the world, Pacman Jones is blowing his conch shell, reassembling his posse and will soon embark on a journey to Austin.
