It wasn't as hard to watch this game as most in which we lose. If you read my game thread bit, I just couldn't see a way that we could win without the bounce of the ball going our way often. Between lack of a running game, lack of protection, penalties and turnovers, the Bears didn't have much time to actually try to move the ball down field.

Another Possible Ron Turner Replacement

My plan was to have this post up on Thursday, but after another tough loss, with another bunch of questionable calls by Ron Turner, and after seeing the regression of a Pro Bowl quarterback, I had to chime in early. The Bears offense is in desperate need of a coach that can coach.
Last week I speculated the Bears could hire Charlie Weis as offensive coordinator if the Fighting Irish let him go. After losing again this weekend that possibility is gaining momentum. I ho...

Cutler's spark has faded

You don't have to be a body-language expert to know what happened to Jay Cutler on Sunday night. You only needed to see the overthrows. Greg Olsen and Devin Hester in the end zone. Johnny Knox streaking down the sideline. Guys so wide open that your grandpa could have connected with them. Throws that Cutler could make blindfolded. Check that. Throws that a cocky Cutler -- the quarterback the Bears traded for -- could have made blindfolded.

OFFENSE
QB - Jay Cutler
RB - Matt Forte
WR - Devin Hester, Johnny Knox, Earl Bennett
TE - Greg Olsen, Desmond Clark, Kellen Davis
OL - Chris Williams, Josh Beekman
Notes - Orlando Pace is incapable of protecting the blindside at his age. Roberto Garza and Olin Kretuz are serviceable players but also easily upgraded. The offensive line - as a whole - needs to be the focus of management during what will be a long offseason.

Eagles - Bears Notes

> And we're back to the game that has been the most miserable one for Eagle Fans: SNF. The record for the laundry in this game is downright atrocious, right up there with their record in close games. Any night game loss involves sleeplessness and hate. So let's have at it!> The first third down for the Eagles is a third and one, and we got the first big play of Michael Vick's career, as he went for 35 yards from absolute pancake blocks from Winston Justice and Leonard Weaver...

In a way, aren’t you thankful that the Bears didn’t win what was a phenomenally bad game to watch? At least now, the ghost that was their “playoff aspirations” will no longer insult your intelligence. What was the big play in the Bears game? The Knox leaping TD catch (why did he leap?), the two missed FG's by Steeler kicker Jeff Reed, the game winner by Robbie Gould? Maybe one of the two sacks by Alex Brown, or his pressure on Ben Roethlisberger that led to the interception by Charles Tillman?
For my money it was none of these. If I was pres...
