Former Penn State and Cleveland Browns' fullback Tim Manoa played four seasons in the NFL, three with Cleveland and one with the Indianapolis Colts. Tim was also a member of the 1986 National Champion Penn State Nittany Lions who knocked off the high-powered Miami Hurricanes led then by 1986 Heisman Trophy winner Vinny Testaverde, 14-10 in the Fiesta Bowl. Tim rushed for 938 career yards on 236 carries with 6 touchdowns and caught 40 passes for 308 yards with 2 touchdowns in his NFL career.Tim was kind enough to spend some time with me at Rocky's Personalized Training in Boardman, Ohio where he helps out his cousin and owner Rocky Taumoepeau. In my interview we touched on a little bit of everything from Tim's childhood, his high school career, and all the way to his time with the Browns. It looks like a 40-year-old, 17 year NFL veteran has finally called it quits. Jeff George was the #1 overall pick in 1990 who then managed to make his way onto 8 different team rosters before his recent retirement. Disclaimer: Vinny Testaverde recently came back to the league and finished the 2007 NFL season at 44-years-old, so we really cannot rule out a Jeff George return just yet. In fact, I remember George trying to make a comeback in 2007 with the Vikings, but those rumors stopped when Minnesota coach, Brad Childress, could not halt laughing about the idea of putting the elder QB on the field. I wonder if Childress was laughing in the same ferocity as Matthew Vuckovich and me when we received an email recently to Take Our (Clients) Game To The Next Level!!! How exactly would we take their game to the next level? The subject line of the email paves the way to success: Jeff George Elite Quarterback Training is Here!!! Jeff George Elite Quarterback The program is probably legit, but I could not figure out why they only put George's picture in three different uniforms. I can understand looking for depth at the QB position, just in case something happens, but Vinny Testaverde? Hes 43 years old! No 43 year old, besides Morton Anderson (who's a freakin' kicker), can play in the NFL. It just can't happen. The young guys are too fast, hit too hard, and are just overall better. So why did the Patriots sign him? I have no idea.
