Sergio Garcia Goes On To Take The Win By 2 Strokes at The Wyndham Championship

Sergio Garcia must of not had too much trouble sleeping on the slim lead he had in the Wyndham Championship, Garcia gout up this morning and captured his first win on American soil since winning the Players Championship back in 2008. Garcia was able to hold off Tim Clark who finished 2nd behind Garcia at 16 under par. Garcia played well today, he made birdies at 11, 13, 15, 16 and 17. Garcia gave a couple of strokes back with bogeys at 12 and 18. Sergio fished at 66, 4 under for his final round and a 18 under par 262 for the tournament.
It is nice to see Sergio Finally get back into the winners circle in America once again.

Sergio Garcia & Tim Clark Looking at A Monday Finish at the Wyndham Championship

For Sergio Garcia Sunday night could end up being a restless one. Garcia and the rest of the field will have to come back on Monday morning to finish the final round of the Wyndham Championship. The rains came and soaked the golf course fairly well today. The course was deemed Unplayable about 5:20 P.M. EST by the PGA tour officials. Even though the rains stopped the course was just too wet to continue play today.
Garcia had a one stoke lead over the rest of the field and was through the 4th hole in his final round when the siren went off suspending play. Tim Clark was one stroke back tied with two others in second place. Sergio hasn’t won on American soil since claiming the top spot at the 2008 Players Championship. Although Garcia has won on the European Tour as late as 2011, I can imagine Garcia’s nerves could be a little frail right about now. Garcia looked calm as the showed him in the clubhouse playing cards with his friends before play was officially suspended. Sleeping on ...

Sergio Garcia Finds Himself In The Hunt At The Wyndham Championship

Sergio Garcia, remember him? Garcia was going to break into golf’s elite few when he broke onto the scene in 1999. Garcia was an exciting player who shared some of the same emotions we have seen from other great players from Spain. Garcia never really found the form that would take him where only the few have stepped. Garcia who lives in Borriol, Spain has only 7 PGA Tour victories to his credit and has never won a major. He did win the Players Championship in 2008, some consider that tournament golfs fifth major although it won’t be counted in history as so.
One of Garcia’s biggest problems that has probably kept him from the Major stage has been his putting. Today Garcia shot a nice round of 63, 7 under par to find himself 2 strokes off the lead and tied for 3rd place heading into the weekend. Garcia is tied with Tim Clark,Harris English and Carl Pettersson. It would be great to see Garcia make it into the last group on Sunday and have a chance to card his 8th win. Still lots of...
