Practice Report: Baltimore Ravens (4-3) at Cincinnati Bengals (5-2)

Every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evening, we'll (TRY TO) update the practice/injury chart leading up to Sunday's game. The chart is pretty self-explanatory. If the player is listed as out, they're out for the game. If they did not participate, they didn't practice. If they were limited, then they only participated during a portion of practice (typically means missing 11-on-11 drills). If the player is listed as full participation, it simply means that they practiced fu...

Report: Bengals signed Fui Vakapuna off the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad

Even though Jeremi Johnson is working through a knee injury he suffered against the Chicago Bears, the Bengals signed fullback Fui Vakapuna off the Arizona Cardinals practice squad, Geoff Hobson writes. Vakapuna will go to the team's 53-man roster, which will require the team to either release/waive a player, or move them to an open spot on the practice squad.
Along with Jeremi Johnson and Chris Pressley, Vakapuna was featured on Hard Knocks as a major storyline of whom makes the squ...

Why can't the Bengals have BengalsFest?; updated tickets number is 4,500; a whole lot of Jeremi Johnson

When you do it for the fans, they respond. I've said it before and I'll say it again, and again, and again. One of the Bengals worst efforts as an organization is their effort to reach out to the fans. I'm not comparing this to other NFL teams; most could be the same way, I don't know. But no other NFL team goes through the same struggles with their fans as the Bengals organization.
I say this as RedsFest tickets go on sale. Nearly everyone that's gone to this event s...

Bengals' Bernard Scott and Jeremi Johnson missed Monday's practice

A slight complaint was generated against the Chicago Bears when Cedric Benson was still playing in the closing minutes of the Bengals 45-10 win last week. Doesn't that just sound good? Rolls off your tongue. 45-10. Yea. Anyway... Some complained that the Bengals kept Benson in to try and achieve a 200-yard rushing milestone, which he fell 11 yards short of accomplishing.
Most of the complaining came from national figure heads, but some fans complained. The reality is, we discussed la...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers sign fullback Chris Pressley off the Bengals practice squad

We all liked full back Chris Pressley. He was a hard knocking hitter on Hard Knocks, competing against Fui Vakapuna, J.D Runnels and veteran Jeremi Johnson for the position. Unfortunately for everyone, Jeremi Johnson resumed some resemblance of what he did earlier in his career. As a result, Runnels was let go early. Vakapuna and Pressley were featured on Hard Knocks while nervously sitting around waiting for the call if they made the squad or not. Both were waived. Pressley returned on the...

In the most manly way of saying things, Jeremi Johnson looks good; David Jones tweaked his left ankle

While Brian Leonard was stuffed twice behind the line of scrimmage, Jeremi Johnson had a nice run up the middle, as well scoring (untouched) on a sweep play. It would seem that the Bengals are giving Johnson every chance to make the squad -- and he's looking good doing it.

The catch of the practice goes to Laveranues Coles. After Johnathan Joseph tipped the ball, Coles hauled it back in near the sideline and got both feet in for the reception.

Johnson, at one time the league’s highest-paid FB and a Pro Bowl alternate, has battled weight and conditioning issues since 2006.
