Detroit Mercy’s Ray McCallum Jr. wins Horizon League Player of the Year

As someone who has been to ten University of Detroit Mercy home games this season, there was no doubt in my mind that Titans junior point guard Ray McCallum, Jr. was the best player in the Horizon League this year. McCallum became the first player since former Titan guard Rashad Phillips in 2000-01 to earn both preseason and postseason Player of the Year.

McCallum was joined by senior teammate Nick Minnerath on the All-League first team. Minnerath averaged 15.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game for the second place Titans.
