Why cant Joey Porter keep his fists at his side?

Joey Porter is in the headlines again, guess what for. He was in Vegas back in march when he clubbed Bengals tackle Levi Jones, at a blackjack table. Well Joe, guess what your reward is, $141,176 less in your pocket. Good thinking buddy. That is one of the largest sums of money ever given out in the form of a fine. Nobody knows if Porter will appeal or not. Now I somewhat like the Steelers and have seen Joey play a little bit and he is phenomonal. He is everywhere on the field and if you get hit by him, stay down. So why is he so good. His temper, he gets so into the game and will mow down anyone who gets in his way. Now when the game isnt going on, he is still pissed at the world. Even if he is on the field if someone taunts him he wont hesitate to maul you or spit on you. Well I'm no doctor but I will perscribe Joey a straight-jacket to be worn any time he is not playing football.

2002 all draft team

If you look back at this draft you can see some of these picks are by default. This was definitely a terrible quarterback class as Carr isn't even that great but compared to the rest of the guys he looks like a stud. It was also a weak class for linebackers. Lets just say except for some defensive players this wasn't that great a draft.

2002 Draft Review picks 1-10

People usually grade drafts right after they happen but success can't be measured until later. So now that it's been 5 years I'm going to see how the 2002 first round looks now.The Lions may have gotten an A for drafting Joey Harrington by Mel Kiper then but what would that grade be now? Keep checking in for the whole first round and then my all 2002 draft team.
1.Houston Texans: David Carr QB Fresno St. This was the first draft pick in team history and it certainly wasn't as successful as they hoped. Behind a poor offensive line and a weak supporting cast,Carr was released this year and is now on the Carolina Panthers.
2.Carolina Panthers: Julius Peppers DE North Carolina: Draft analysts were calling Peppers the next Lawrence Taylor when he entered the draft. Ironically they attended the same college and Peppers has become a star. He is one of the most athletic players in the league and has been to the Pro Bowl multiple times.
3.Detroit Lions: Joey Harrington QB Oregon: Lets just say this wasn't the best pick in the Matt Millen era for the Lions. Harrington was supposed to be a very savvy quarterback with lots of big game experience. That potential was never shown in Detroit and is now the backup for the Falcons behind America's favorite dog breeder, Michael Vick.
4.Buffalo Bills: Mike Williams T Texas: Williams came into the league with expectations to become a great player right away. That never happened as he was overweight and was slow. He was with the Jacksonville Jaguars last season but was placed on injured reserve before he reached the field.
5.San Diego Chargers: Quentin Jammer CB Texas: Jammer was supposed to be a shut down corner coming out of Texas. He has been a solid corner but hasn't lived up to expectations. He is still currently playing for the Chargers.
6.Kansas City Chiefs: Ryan Sims DT North Carolina: This might have been the biggest reach of this draft class. Sims was a first round talent but wasn't worth the 6th pick. He has also had numerous injuries and is now on the Bucs. For the Record John Henderson was picked 3 picks later while Seahawks defensive tackle Rocky Bernard was picked in the 5th round.
7.Minnesota Vikings: Bryant McKinnie T Miami(FL): McKinnie was a very prolific college player but it hasn't translated to the pros. After holding out half the year,McKinnie took a while to catch up to speed with the offense. He is currently still starting for the Vikings.
8.Dallas Cowboys: Roy Williams S Oklahoma: Williams was labeled a star coming out and lived up to it his first year winning defensive rookie of the year. He still starts for the Cowboys but you can noticeably tell he has slowed down and can't cover the pass.
9.Jacksonville Jaguars: John Henderson DT Tennessee: After this pick analysts like Mel Kiper Jr. were going nuts with what a mistake the Jaguars made for picking him after taking Marcus Stroud the year before. Well they were proved wrong. Henderson started right away and he and Stroud have helped turn the Jags into a great rushing defense. He has also been to the Pro Bowl.
10.Cincinnati Bengals: Levi Jones T Arizona State: When you draft a player 10th overall and he is best known for getting into a fight with Joey Porter in Las Vegas, that isn't a real good thing. Jonesstarts for the Bengals but he hasn't yet reached his full potential.

That is how Levi Jones describes Joey Porter's assault on him in Vegas. Please your hand if you believe that Joey Porter will not respond to this, I don't I just hope I'm the one who posts Porter's response.

Joey Porter Cited for Punching Levi Jones (Allegedly)

I guess this seals the deal on why I am happy that the Browns didn't sign Porter. And to think that he somehow found a way to fight a member of the Cincinnati Bengals.

WOW. That is uncharacteristic of that team.

Lysol Picks The Winners! v2.0

After an unsavory 2-3 start, I vow to roar back this week: Lesgo!

1. San Diego at Kansas City. This should be only slightly more competitive than Redskins-Colts, and I needed a fifth game. These teams play each other twice a year, Arrowhead's a bitch to play at, KC needs a win, etc. San Diego doesn't roll over Kansas entirely in this game, but they run away with it when the Chiefs' defense dissolves in the second half. Two injured tackles will give the Chief's a fighting chance at getting to Rivers, maybe a couple of Allen sacks. Chargers 35, Chiefs 21.

2. Carolina at Cincinnati. Levi Jones out for Cincy, look for a lot of Carson going down. I don't think the Bengals can get much done with Antonio Chatman as their third receiver in this offense. But I can't believe the Bengals aren't mad, and won't come out and make this a game. Carolina rolls on. Panthers 31, Bengals 21.

3. Pittsburgh at Atlanta. Both of these teams need this win, probably Pittsburgh more than Atlanta. Atlanta is banged up on the defensive line, Pittsburgh on the offense. Vick can work wonders at home, but he's busted at the shoulder. There goes passing. This one could get ugly, and Pittsburgh loves ugly. Steelers 23, Falcons 13.

4. Minnesota at Seattle. This won't surprise anyone who has read me before, but I don't think Seattle has this one in the bag like it would appear. The Vikings just might blow this one out of the water. Seattle won messy last week, but I got a gut feeling ... not founded on anything, but I'm going for it: Vikings 38, Seattle 21.

5. New York Giants at Dallas. A real jewel of a game, hopefully. Or will familiarity breed attrition? These games always speed up at the end after a grueling first half. I again go with grudges and stick with the team I like. Plus, another Dallas loss will create some interesting drama: they can't take many more, really. So I say Drew throws 4 picks and gets benched in the 4th quarter of a trouncing. New York gets up early and keeps it that way. Cowboys will wish Tiki had retired last offseason. Giants 41, Cowboys 21.
