Practice Report: Cincinnati Bengals @ Green Bay Packers (Wednesday)

Every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evening, we'll update the practice/injury chart leading up to Sunday's game. The chart is pretty self-explanatory. If the player is listed as out, they're out for the game. If they did not participate, they didn't practice. If they were limited, then they only participated during a portion of practice (typically means missing 11-on-11 drills). If the player is listed as full participation, it simply means that they practiced fully and t...

With Jones out four to six weeks with an injury that may linger and nag him for months once he does return, the Bengals will be forced to take a closer look at rookies Trent Morgan and local guy, Rico Murray, to compete with the long-toothed Jamar Fletcher for the third-corner spot. Also in that mix is Geoffrey Pope; a predominantly spe...

Bengals cornerback David Jones out four weeks; a lesson in reading/writing headlines

There are times in which the headline draws more reaction than the actual context of the article/post. Take this example, for instance. I get home. I open my Google Reader. I click on the Bengals.com news feed. It says "DJones out 4-6 weeks." My initial reaction: "No, not Dhani!". When will we ever get a break? Did our injury-plagued season expand into 2009? What the hell! Mind you, I only read the headline. In fact, I just read the first few words of the headline. Not...

Cornerback David Jones could be out for awhile; Bengals sign Jamar Fletcher

The Bengals singed cornerback Jamar Fletcher, the team announced Sunday morning. Fletcher was with the Bengals in 2008, recording "21 tackles, three passes defensed, a fumble recovery and two special-teams tackles" in 11 games played and two starts. From 2005 until 2008, Fletcher played on four different teams -- Chargers, Lions, Texans, Bengals -- before re-signing with Cincinnati this weekend in response to David Jones' injury he suffered on Saturday.

While Brian Leonard was stuffed twice behind the line of scrimmage, Jeremi Johnson had a nice run up the middle, as well scoring (untouched) on a sweep play. It would seem that the Bengals are giving Johnson every chance to make the squad -- and he's looking good doing it.

The catch of the practice goes to Laveranues Coles. After Johnathan Joseph tipped the ball, Coles hauled it back in near the sideline and got both feet in for the reception.
