Venus Williams advanced to her second straight Sony Ericsson Championships final Saturday after rallying for a 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 win over Jelena Jankovic.

Williams broke the former top-ranked Serb three times in a row en route to a 5-3 lead in the decisive set. The defending champion then sealed the win with a forehand that bounced in off the netcord.

She could come up against her sister Serena, who played Danish teenager Caroline Wozniacki in the second semifinal.

Jankovic routs tired Wozniacki, into Doha semis

Jelena Jankovic advanced to the semifinals of the Sony Ericsson Championships on Friday after routing a tired Caroline Wozniacki 6-2, 6-2 in the last group-stage round.

The former top-ranked Serb broke twice in the first set and then raced out to a 4-0 lead in the second.

Wozniacki won two grueling three-set matches on Wednesday and Thursday and looked like she had simply run out of energy in the hot weather, often a step slow and failing to chase down balls she would normally get to.

Whine queen Jelena Jankovic blames Doha loss entirely on herself

The only person capable of beating former world No. 1 Jelena Jankovic is Jelena Jankovic, says Jelena Jankovic. The tennis world's reigning queen of whine lost the first of her round-robin matchesearlier this week to Victoria Azarenka at the season-ending Sony Ericsson Championships and, in her customary fashion, gave no credit to her opponent:"I basically gave her everything. I beat myself. That was really unfortunately the case. My game was completely off. I would hit one or two ba...

Jelena Jankovic of Serbia advanced to the quarterfinals of the Toray Pan Pacific Open on Wednesday when Russia's Elena Vesnina was forced to retire with a left thigh injury.

Jankovic was leading 6-1, 3-0 when the match was stopped.

The former world No. 1 is the highest seeded player remaining in the $2 million tournament.

"I don't really think about that," said Jankovic, seeded seventh. "I just think about my game and what I have to do on the court.

Jelena Jankovic Chooses Honesty Over Sportsmanship

Your biggest upset of this year's Wimbledon is probably sixth-seeded Jelena Jankovic dropping her third-round match to unheralded American Melanie Oudin, 6-7 (10-8), 7-5, 6-2. If something seems awry with that result, well yes, there's a reason:

The sixth-seeded Jankovic struggled with the heat on a sunny, 82-degree
afternoon, and took a 12-minute break after the first set. She also
needed treatment for her left foot later, and was plagued by erratic
