Schwartz learned from struggles with Lewis

Along with Bill Belichick and Jeff Fisher, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis was one of the main influences in Lions coach Jim Schwartz's career. Lewis was the Ravens' defensive coordinator from 1996-2001. Schwartz was an assistant on his staff the first three years before leaving for the Titans.
Though they haven't talked much leading up to their meeting Sunday in Cincinnati, they keep in touch. When Schwartz took the Lions job in January, he asked Lewis for advice about putting togeth...

Eisenberg: Preparing For Life After Ray

When Ray Lewis finally departs, who will replace him as their public face, the guy who defines pro football in Baltimore circa 2010? Ray Rice, the superb young running back whom Lewis is mentoring, is a possibility. But my money is on Joe Flacco. Big, commanding quarterbacks tend to rise to prominence.

Ray Lewis weighs in on concussions

The NFL is atwitter over revelations about the potential long-term repercussions of concussion, so much so the league has enforced new rules on players returning to a game with head trauma.

Asked today whether he would ever take himself out of a game if he had a concussion, linebacker Ray Lewis was candid in his response.

"That's a hard decision," he said. "You've got to ask yourself what point in the game you're at, what stage of the season you're at, how b...

Ray Lewis works out with Baltimore Cops

Ray Lewis is a real local hero. He doesn't complain about money and always has something crazy inspirational to say. I got to meet him in person one time, and he actually looked small compared ot me (6"2), but I'm thinking it was only because he was in the off season. Ray is also big in the community, check him out here getting B-More cops fit.

It appears our friend OGOchoCinco decided to make a “Black Friday” appearance at a local Target.
Was Chad trying to get a new Flat Screen, PS3, or maybe a BlueRay of Ray Lewis dancing?
None of the above.
Chad instead decided to pick up a $5 Snuggie. He also decided to model his Snuggie not at home, [...]

Ray Lewis says his right foot and ankle were bothering him in Colts game

Ray Lewis admitted yesterday that he did tweak his right ankle somewhat early in the game against the Colts, and that he had to fight through a bit of pain the rest of the way, but he didn't want to use it as an excuse for missing tackles, including one on Joseph Addai at the goal line.

He said it actually more like he re-aggravated a previous injury. He was limping somewhat during the second half after grabbing his leg and wincing after emerging from the bottom of a pile.

Does it matter that Ray Lewis and Ed Reed often won't talk after losses?

Curious to know how Ray Lewis felt about the Ravens 17-15 loss to the Colts on Sunday? Want to know what Ed Reed was thinking on that last-minute lateral?

Me too.

Only problem was, neither player was interested in talking to the media after the game. Lewis kept his back to reporters, facing his locker, while he was getting dressed and then declined to even acknowledge a few questions asked by several media members as he left the locker room. Reed took a similar approach, declini...

Ravens: Hanging tough

The Ravens continue to own the turnover battle, recovering a funble inside their own 5 yard line after the big hit that Ray Lewis put on tight end Tom Santi. Now, they're moving the ball down the field, but a big gain was negated by the disputed fumble by Willis McGahee deep in Indy territory. The play is being reviewed, since McGahee's knee may have been down when he coughed up the ball. If not, a big gain turned into a big loss before the ball skipped out of bounds.

Ray Lewis To Take A Stab At Solving America’s Unemployment Crisis

Returning to his childhood home for Cleveland’s Brownout against Baltimore, MNF announcer Jon Gruden was a little out of sorts.
While I didn’t record all of Gruden’s loose-lipped quips, I managed to archive the following nugget.
For the 10 percent of unemployed Americans, this is for you.

Hey everyone:

Transportation issues have made Monday one heck of a day. So I decided to bang out a bar entry before I got to the ballpark in Toronto.

Therefore, we are going back to football again for Tuesday.

(Quick aside: If I could have one superhero power it would be teleportation. No question in my mind. After sitting for a couple hours in Baltimore rush hour traffic and a few more hours at BWI, I would pay good money to be able to teleport. I’d give up the poten...
