Dewey Hammond, I owe you one. The Dew caught up with dreamy quarterback Mark Sanchez during his press conference today and asked him the question that's been on my mind: how does he keep that hair looking so touchable?

I love his initial reaction: "Who's that question from? A girl?" I had interviewed Mark during Super Bowl and hadn't thought to ask him then. Thank you Dewey, on behalf of ladies everywhere. Thank you.

Analysis of Draft Day 1 for the Texans

The Texans, on paper, improved their defense on the first day of the 2009 NFL Draft. USC’s Brian Cushing has the potential to improve the team’s toughness and the run defense on first and second downs, one of the big weaknesses from 2008. He has the potential to be a bigger body on the strong side. In my opinion, he should start over Zac Diles on run downs. Whether he is a true three down player, only time will tell.

PS: This video includes my favorite moment of the draft so far. Maybe 45 or 30 seconds before the end. Some still photographer pushes his way in front of a few people shooting video, and when I used my foot to gently speak for me, as in, "Yo, get out of the way," he didn't take to it too kindly, and to make it even better, his whispered precursor to the "let's take this outside threat" that came later sounds great.

SC started camp the other day. I talked to a couple of the guys --- Brian Cushing, Rey Maualuga, Taylor Mays, Allan Bradford --- to get their feedback on how things were going. That's a big part of me and I want to stay connected with my old friends in college. I'll follow them closely all year. I shoot at least 1 or 2 of them a text every day just to share some funny stories. I still talk to Coach Norton and I'm sure I'll talk to him before games. He still gives me some coaching advice. I'll tell him about practice things that I did or didn't do well and he'll start coaching me more as a friend and mentor. I enjoy it.
