Addressing the Rumor

Hey Yardbarkers,

I'm sure you have heard or read the rumor that "I was arrested in Champaign, Illinois on June 9th" but I wanted to let you know that it is not true. The only explanation I have is that my wallet was stolen while I was still in school and someone might be impersonating me.

During the time I was "supposedly arrested," I was actually here in Florida at OTA's. I am fully dedicated to my football career and learning the playbook so that I can be affective this season. As I said before, I am very thankful to be a part of the Miami Dolphins and I do not want to do anything that would bring any negative publicity to me or the team.

LESSON TO BE LEARNED: YOU CAN'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU HEAR OR READ!!

What's up Yardbarkers? It's me, your boy Vontae Davis with the Miami Dolphins. Man, that feels so great to say. I have to admit...The day of the draft when I got the call was one of the most exciting days of my life. I can't even describe the feeling that I felt when the call came in. Being chosen in the 1st round just like my brother, Vernon, that was such a great feeling. The only other set of brothers chosen in the first round were Eli and Peyton Manning, Now they can add Vernon and Vontae Davis to that list. Naw but really, I am very thankful to be a part of such a great team like the dolphins and to be working with Coach Parcells. I'm enjoying my time here in Miami. My days consist of working on plays with my teammates and learning from the Veterans that have taken me under their wing. The weather here is great and I'm getting to enjoy a little of what Miami has to offer but my main focus right now is learning the playbook and proving myself out on the field. Aight YB's. I will be blogging and posting articles here so make sure you check it every so often and let me know what you think. Peace!

The Phins had a big need at CB and have filled it with CB Vontae Davis. Davis has immaturity concerns and his brother has yet to reach his potential and that is casting a shadow over Davis. Davis is a boom or bust to the hilt but Bill parcells is not wrong too often. The fact that it's himt aking the chance on Davis says a lot. Grade: C+

Illinois CB Vontae Davis Names His Dream NFL Team

On Fox Sports Radio this afternoon, Illinois CB Vontae Davis, a first-round prospect like his brother Vernon Davis was a few years back, was asked which NFL team he most hoped would draft him next month.

Vontae answered quickly - Baltimore. He then explained that he likes the way the Ravens play defense.

It should be noted that Vontae is from Washington, D.C., and attended the District's Dunbar High, but I think Ravens fans can be proud that college stars are dreaming of donning the purple and black (and certainly not the burgundy and gold).

Even if Vontae didn't follow his brother Vernon to Maryland, I still love V.D.
