Golden Nuggets: Nervous, but confident... enough

Well folks we're one day away from the game against the Seattle Seahawks. I'm nervous, I'm not gonna lie. I have faith in my 49ers to win, and I even think they have the potential to win big what with the disarray and the way the 'Hawks are playing lately, but I never feel completely confident about a divisional matchup. I mean come on, when the 49ers played the Rams at home I wasn't even completely confident, I was at that game and I just had a bad feeling in the pit ...

Tracking all 53 from 49ers' win over Jaguars

OFFENSE
7-Nate Davis: Inactive as the No. 3 QB.

11-Alex Smith: Started at QB. There's no question he played a nice game. It certainly wasn't spectacular but it was very consistent at good. The one concern is that Smith did have good time to throw, but he averaged only 5.7 yards per attempt. Some of that had to do with some dropped passes, as I counted three well-thrown passes that were not caught - and another four that weren't well-thrown that could've been caught....

The Ballad of Nate Davis

I’ll be honest. There are moments where I want to be the douchey columnist. I want to say, Nate Davis shouldn’t have gone and declared himself a pro. But you know what?I can’t. The logic was infallible. Was his value never going to be higher? Damn right. Was he going to have to learn a new offense as a senior? Yes. Did he lose the coach that made him what sort of a prospect that he was. Absolutely. He needed to move up, because despite his two last games? He was never going to be as good as he...

Breaking Down the Colts Part 1: Quarterbacks - Peyton Manning, Jim Sorgi, and Nate Davis?

In the first edition of Breaking Down the Colts, MSF takes a look at the Colts QB situation for 2009. Obviously the Colts are set with Peyton Manning, but will Jim Sorgi be the backup in 2009? Or will the Colts draft a rookie like Nate Davis and begin grooming him for the future?

Only One Team Attends Nate Davis' Pro Day

When the whole draft process started, Nate Davis was a quarterback who lots of people were talking about. He led the Ball State Cardinals, a school that is better known for producing David Letterman than any NFL player, to a 12-0 start. People were praising him and calling him the next great quarterback to come from the MAC. Now March rolls along when you would expect Davis to show scouts why he

Buffalo shocks No. 12 Ball State, ends Cardinals perfect season

It's amazing how just one play can turn the tide of an entire football game. Take a play in unranked Buffalo's stunning 42-24 upset of No. 12 Ball State in the MAC Championship Game on Friday night.

Up 17-14 and driving for more points following a Bulls' fumble, Cardinals' RB MiQuale Lewis took a handoff from Buffalo's 8-yard line and rushed straight to the pile on at the goal line. Lewis appeared to have gotten in for a touchdown, but officials placed the ball at the 1...
