Tuesday's Quick and Late Mug

Some things to read while the Muppets make everything better (h/t Daily Drink).
In the interest of getting it done as early as possible, today's Mug is bullet pointed again:

Prince Fielder finished fourth in the NL MVP balloting, appearing on all 32 ballots and getting five second place votes (FanShot). Ryan Braun also appeared on 16 ballots en route to an 11th place finish, but was ranked no higher than fifth on any of them. The link above has the full voting. Hopefully we'll...

How about Kawakami for Hart?

Not surprisingly, the Brewers turned down the Braves offer of Derek Lowe for Corey Hart. I'm sure the Brewers cannot afford to take on the $45 million owed to Lowe. Hell, even half of that might be too much for the Brewers right now.But once again I have to ask, doesn't Kenshin Kawakami for Corey Hart make more sense for both sides?Discuss.****** ******(Jorge Says No! on Facebook)(Follow Jorge Says No! on Twitter)

Hypothetically Speaking: Would You Trade Corey Hart for Kenshin Kawakami?

As we all know by now:-The Braves need a big bat to compliment Brian McCann and Chipper Jones in the lineup. They have a surplus of starting pitchers to part with because of the emergence of Tommy Hanson. -The Brewers need a frontline pitcher to pair with Yovani Gallardo in 2010 if they have any chance of making the playoffsWith those needs in mind, let's make a deal. Here is the (hypothetical) offer on the table:Braves trade Kenshin Kawakami to the Milwaukee Brewers for OF Corey HartWould...

Corey Hart, the right fielder for the Milwaukee Brewers, was recently complaining of pains in his stomach and side. On Monday, the Brewers found out there was good reason for complaints. After an appendectomy, Hart was placed on the DL.

Brewers RF Hart put on DL after appendectomy

The Milwaukee Brewers have placed right fielder Corey Hart on the 15-day disabled list and recalled third baseman Bill Hall from Triple-A Nashville.

Hart complained of stomach and side pains Saturday night after he went 0 for 3 in the Brewers' 4-2 loss to San Diego. He missed Milwaukee's 6-1 victory on Sunday as the pain persisted. He underwent an appendectomy that night.

Monday's trip to the disabled list is the first for Hart, who is batting .264 with 11 homers and 40 RBIs...

Brewers' 3B Hart to undergo appendectomy

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Corey Hart was scheduled to undergo an appendectomy Sunday night.

The Brewers said Hart will go on the 15-day disabled list and be replaced by Bill Hall, who will be recalled from Triple-A Nashville.

Hart, who missed Milwaukee's 6-1 victory over the San Diego Padres on Sunday, complained of stomach and side pains Saturday night after he went hitless in three at-bats with a walk during the Brewers' 4-2 loss to the Padres.

The Braves could target the Brewers' Corey Hart for offensive help

From K-Ros this morning, perhaps another outfielder we are looking at adding:

The Brewers' quest for pitching could lead to renewed talks with the Braves, who in the past have targeted Brewers right fielder Corey Hart. The Braves would need to clear their own right fielder, Jeff Francoeur, before acquiring Hart, and no team is hot after Francoeur.
The problem for the Brewers in trading Hart is their lack of a suitable replacement. Still, the Braves are deep in pitching — and...
