Over/Under – 96%
With an abundance of left-handed hitters, there has been speculation that Hawpe would likely be dealt. That, however, would only be the case if the Rockies felt they received a solid return, such as the Matt Holliday trade last off-season.

If the Rockies are looking for a package similar to Holliday’s, then a deal simply isn’t happening. Hawpe’s value is at it’s lowest point after that garbage second half and playoff no-show. Teams should be able to find comparable options in free agency. There just isn’t much pointing a deal here.
Unless of course Billy Beane’s scheme of the year includes loading...

Are the Rockies Making a Mistake by Not Trading Brad Hawpe?

Surprising news out of Colorado this morning that GM Dan O'Dowd will not look to trade Brade Hawpe this offseason:“The Rockies understand the value of Brad Hawpe on the field and off,” said O’Dowd. “We have no desire to move him at all. He has leadership ability and a commitment to the approach we feel is important for a team’s success.”Hawpe hit .284 with 23 home runs and 86 RBI, ranking fourth on the Rockies in average, third in home runs and tied for second in RBI.
Why the Cubs will acquire Brad Hawpe

Colorado is likely looking to move Brad Hawpe this offseason. Here’s why the Cubs will acquire him

He has a career wOBA of .372
He’s left-handed
He hits ~25+ HRs a year
He’s not Milton Bradley
He hasn’t been driven away by the bleacher crowd ala Mike Cameron

Sadly, he’s also epically horrendous on defense. His career UZR/150 in RF is -19.9. In 2008 he posted a legendary -37.2 UZR in RF. Even Adam Dunn is floored by that number. Because of this, he posted a -...
