I Like Angry Todd

Todd Helton had an angry, but completely accurate response for Fanhouse’s Jeff Fletcher when asked how he felt about Colorado’s 2007 season being labeled a fluke by numerous baseball “experts” and bloggers.
“Are you gonna say anytime anyone goes to the World Series who aren’t the Yankees it’s a [expletive] fluke? How is it a [expletive] fluke if you make it to the playoffs and win the first two rounds? Tell me where the fluky part is.”
Todd [Expletive] Helton, ladies and gentlemen! Tell those [expletives] how it is!
That's two clubhouse rules broken in less than a week!
The big story isn’t that Todd Helton rejected the ridiculous notion that 2007 was a fluke, it’s the manner in which he did so. Todd Helton was...

I'm not sure how I feel about the outside possibility of this guy playing first base, for even a single game, down the stretch. Could be worse, though - from an offensive standpoint, anyway.

Todd Helton > Babe Ruth

A couple weeks ago, when our boy Townie wrote that he was planning a trip to the Hall of Fame when Colorado’s Todd Helton would be inducted, I scoffed.
Granted, I do scoff a lot; I’m a scoffer. But I felt totally justified shooting Townie a few emails asking if it was satire or if he was perhaps referring to a special hall of fame just for obscure players in the mountain states.
But now I’ve heard news that has totally changed my opinion of Todd “Mr. Rockie” Helton, like 540 degrees.
OMFG! Did you hear, last week Helton hit his 506th career double! Tying him with Babe FREAKIN’ Ruth!
I mean, DAMN! I totally apologize to both Townie and Mr. Helton.
It’s embarrassing how...

Hypothetically Speaking: Would the Rockies Trade Todd Helton?

Over at ESPN.com, the great Jerry Crasnick pens a piece about Todd Helton. Crasnick outlines just how important Helton is and has been to the Rockies through the ups and downs of the franchise and the vital role he plays in the clubhouse with the younger Rockies players. The article is in total praise of Helton...and rightfully so! Here is a guy, who at soon to be 36 years old, is third in the National League in batting average (.327) and has led the Rockies back into the playoff race. Sure he...

Todd Helton became the 50th player to hit 500 career doubles when he knocked one off the right field scoreboard in the third inning. He would then hit a solo homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to put the Rockies ahead of the D'Backs 4-3.

Rumor: Todd Helton among 103 on the "Steroid list of 2003."

Rumor: Todd Helton among 103 on the "Steroid list of 2003."
RotoInfo.com has the rumored full list, on which Helton is the only member of the 2003 Rockies roster. Eric Byrnes, Matt Herges, Jeromy Burnitz, Andres Galarraga, Javy Lopez and Mike Hampton are the only other former Rockies. There are a LOT of big names making an appearance.

Take this with a grain of salt. NOTHING official, just a rumor at this point, and it could just be someone pimping for page views.
