The Routine

One of the reasons I like to watch extra film is that when we go through the film as a group there isn't enough time to get a chance to really watch all of your reps closely. I always want to improve and being able to see what you're doing on film and correcting your mistakes is important to me. We watch practice film as a group between practices or if we practice at night then the next morning. There's so much to watch that you can't possibly watch all of your reps. I will stay a little later at night and go through my stuff on my own. Definitely helps me prepare for the next day. Our routine is probably similar to most teams. We're up at 6:15 and leave for the stadium. We have a special teams meeting at 8 and then offense and defense meetings. Then we have position meetings until 9:30. We're on the field from 10-12, get lunch and some treatment then try to squeeze in a nap. We're back at the stadium at 3:00 for meetings. At 5:00 we break for dinner and then we got to our team meeting at 5:45. We get different speakers and presentations during that meeting. That's the meeting Joe Theismann came to and we had a presentation about all of the uniform rules the other day. We hit the field again for practice from 7-9, get a little treatment, grab a late night snack at the hotel and go to bed and do it all over again. I just wanted to let you all know that I'm really looking forward to blogging my entire rookie season with the Jaguars and being apart of Yardbarker's Rookie Roundup. My USC teammate Keith Rivers will be doing it along with former Cal guy Lavelle Hawkins, and also Darren McFadden. More to come...

Yardbarker has rounded up four of this year's NFL rookies to blog about their rookie seasons. "Rookie Roundup" has offense, defense, two first-round selections, and two top-10 picks: Oakland Raiders RB Darren McFadden, Cincinnati Bengals LB Keith Rivers, Tennessee Titans WR Lavelle Hawkins, and Jacksonville Jaguars LB Thomas Williams. Darren, Keith, Lavelle and Thomas will post stories, photos and video throughout the season, giving the Yard an inside look at what it's really like to be a rookie in the NFL. Content will be updated regularly (weekly, sometimes daily) so be sure to visit often. Titans Agree To Contract With Draft Pick

The Titans have agreed to a multiyear contract with seventh-round draft pick Cary Williams.The cornerback joins other draft picks Lavelle Hawkins and Stanford Keglar. That leaves four more to be signed before training camp opens July 25. The 6-2, 190 pound Williams was the 229th pick overall out of Division II Washburn. He spent three years at Washburn with a redshirt season but started his career at Fordham. Williams had 11 interceptions and averaged 25.5 yards on kickoff returns with two touchdowns in his career at Washburn.

Titans Release Two to Make Room for Two Rookies

Nashville City Paper is reporting that the Titans have released two players to make room for some of their draft picks to join the roster. The team released cornerback Shirdonya Mitchell and tight end Leonard Stephens. The team did this so the two fourth-round picks they signed that became official on Thursday LB Stanford Keglar and WR Lavelle Hawkins can join the roster.

If you want to talk about speed, this year's WR draft class has just that. It's amazing to hear these guys' times that they put up at the Pro Days. I'm just glad I don't have to cover them. Keith and I talk about a few of the wide receivers that we've played against in the Pac-10 (DeSean Jackson and Lavelle Hawkins from Cal, and Mark Bradford from Stanford). Thomas
