Seahawks Inactives

Here are our inactives for today:

QB Mike Teel (3rd QB)
WR Mike Hass
S Jamar Adams
G Mike Gibson
G Manny Wrotto
DT Red Bryant
WR Ben Obomanu
TE Cameron Morrah

No huge surprises, though sitting two guards would seem to indicate to me that they are comfortable with Locklear, as he would be the backup guard after Vallos. Maybe I'm pulling stuff out of my ear, but oh well.

Louis Rankin and CB Roy Lewis are both active, look for them early on special teams.

Special challenge

CHICAGO -- Dave Toub is not a happy man when it comes to the Bears' lapses on kickoff coverage.

Twice this season, the special teams coach has watched his unit surrender a 45-yard-plus return. The first time came against Green Bay in the season opener (Jordy Nelson, 46 yards), the second occurred last week in Seattle (Ben Obomanu, 45 yards).

"We set the bar high on special teams, and for me, and those guys will tell you too, we're not happy with the way we're covering rig...

Those muscled forearms lead to hideously deformed doll hands. Cedric Peerman has compensated for his deformity with great speed, athleticism and virtue true. He was off the charts in Rob Rang's name-the-saints metric. Peerman may not make it in the NFL, but around his parish, he's invaluable for his ability to get that last Gurken.

Ben Obomanu used a cutback lane to return the ball 45 yards to the Seattle 45. A short drive followed, but Seattle was not able to capitalize on the field position. Olindo Mare attempted from 43 yards, but hooked it left. The Bears took over the ball and ran out the clock.

Seahawks start their drive at the Bears 47 after holding and ineligible receiver down field penalties. The hold was on Lance Laury, but the punt was badly shanked, in no small part because of Ben Obomanu's edge pressure.
