Will Albert Haynesworth be a Titan beyond 2008?

As a result of his contract situation, Albert Haynesworth won't be attending the beginning of the Tennessee Titans' organized team activities, which start today at Baptist Sports Park.

The inability of Haynesworth and the Titans to hammer out a long-term deal continues to be an issue for the team as it heads into the 2008 season.

History repeats itself: Titans draft another DE duo

In 2008, the Titans, like 2004, are heading into the season as a playoff team from the previous year and as a result of the free agency departures of Antwan Odom and Travis LaBoy, they are yet again faced with the task of replenishing the defensive line. By drafting Jason Jones and William "Big Play" Hayes, the Titans hope to once again begin a youth movement at the DE spot.

Drexel's Tennessee Titan Seven Round Mock Draft

We're only a couple of weekends away from one of the league's most anticipated offseason events: the NFL Draft.
During this time of the year, NFL fans are bombarded with a seemingly unlimited amount of mock drafts.
Here is one man's take on what the Titans will do on draft day:

Mike Reinfeldt is OK with me

It was easy for Titans fans to be upset with new GM Mike Reinfeldt a year ago and I was among those voicing their displeasure.

The new GM had the temerity to place "dollar values" on players, as if calculating their worth as assets on a balance sheet. I was critical when the Titans lost their leading rusher and two leading receivers in free agency because other teams made better offers to them.

Hindsight shows that Reinfeldt was right, at least in the short-term, which was the 2007 season. Travis Henry, Drew Bennett and Bobby Wade posted less than impressive stats last year and the teams who paid big bucks for them certainly got much less than they bargained for...

Titan-ic losses: Odom, LaBoy and Bell are gone

Free agency giveth and free agency taketh away. Hours after the official announcement that TE Alge Crumpler had joined the team, the Titans lost the services of three of their unrestricted free agents. Antwan Odom (Bengals) Travis LaBoy (Cardinals) and Jacob Bell (Rams) will all be playing in new uniforms next season.

The impact of Tommy Kelly's contract on Titans' free agent plans

The market price for prospective free agent defensive linemen has been set. On Thursday, Al Davis and the Oakland Raiders made Tommy Kelly (who?) the league's highest paid defensive tackle by granting him a seven year deal worth up to $50 million, with about $18 million guaranteed. That's an absurd price for a slightly above average defensive lineman coming off of an ACL injury.

As we all know, Titan defensive linemen Antwan Odom and Travis LaBoy are unrestricted free agents this offseason.

As a result of Kelly's record contract, the cost required to re-sign Odom and/or LaBoy will most likely be more expensive.

Under the radar free agents that could help the Titans

As much as we dream of having a Randy Moss or even an Alge Crumpler in a Titans' uniform next season, their will also be lesser known free agents available that are more than capable of providing a positive impact on the Titans' 2008 season.

Here is my list of under the radar free agents that could help the Titans next year.

The status of Tennessee's left defensive ends is not good news for Wash or for Titans fans...

Tennessee Titans in free agency

Like every other team in the league, the Titans have a sizable number of players who will be effected. Those not tagged, resigned or tendered will become free agents, so Mike Reinfeldt, Jeff Fisher and the Titans' staff have some decisions to make.

If I was the one making the decisions, this is how I'd look at it...

Oakland Raiders Free Agent Wish List-Thoughts from a Reader's Side

During the offseason, I will be welcoming submissions from readers who would want to have a guest slot here on Thoughts from the Dark Side. The first "Thought from a Reader's Side" was submitted by L Dizzle. He gives his Free Agent wish list, and it is a list I can agree with. He suggests that the Raiders go after Corey Williams, Antwan Odom, Bernard Berrian, Flozell Adams, Max Starks and more.
