Olshansky a perfect 10 vs. Oakland

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Igor Olshansky takes a personal 10-0 record against Oakland into Thursday's game.

All 10 wins came while Olshansky played with San Diego. Olshansky played a significant role in the Chargers' run defense stifling the Raiders. In Olshasky's streak, San Diego allowed more than 90 yards rushing only once and limited the Raiders to only 3.4 yards per carry.

``Their linemen like to play a real physical style,'' Olshansky said. ``It's always bee...

Redskins pulling away, 6-0

I kid, but Shaun Suisham just hit a 31-yard field goal to make it 6-0 Washington.

The big play was a 36-yard catch-and-run by Malcolm Kelly afterhe got away from Mike Jenkins. The Redskins helped the Cowboys out with a minus run (Igor Olshansky) and a false start penalty.

But with how things are going this might be an insurmountable lead.

New guys on D fitting in well

Keith Brooking signed a three-year, $6 million deal as a free agent with the Cowboys this off-season. A complete bargain.

Igor Olshansky signed a four-year, $18 million deal with $8 million guaranteed. Another cost-effective move.

Gerald Sensabaugh signed a one-year, $1.75 million deal. He's played well although is coming back from a broken thumb. Again, another solid move. And he will be a restricted free agent after this season if there is no CBA so he's under the Cowboys' con...

Olshansky is quietly effective

IRVING - Igor Olshansky does his work in a quiet, professional manner, and he does it quite well, according to Wade Phillips.

The defensive end was one of the unsung heroes of the OT win at K.C., recording
three tackles, six assists, two pressures and a sack.

"Igor has been a great addition for us," Phillips said. "I think the (Chiefs) running back, Larry Johnson, had 1.8 yards per carry. They didn't make much running, really. Their quarterback made most of the yardage, w...

Igor has novel approach

Igor Olshansky isn't in San Diego any more.

Two games deep into his Cowboys career, he's caught on to what it means to wear a star on your helmet.

Olshansky, like every other player who braved the lockerroom the day after the New York loss, was peppered with questions. Was he disappointed with how the defense performed? Why no turnovers? What happened to all those sacks?

About the fifth time Olshansky was asked to express his disappointment or frustration over the loss, the defensi...

DeCamillis, Buehler making a difference

Special teams coach Joe DeCamillis and rookie kicker David Buehler are running neck and neck in the race for the Cowboys' most valuable offseason addition.

Strong safety Gerald Sensabaugh and defensive end Igor Olshansky are also in the running, but DeCamillis and Buehler are the biggest reasons why a huge weak spot last season seems destined to become a strength this year.

Buehler's three touchbacks Sunday against Tampa Bay were a big reason why the Bucs' average starting field...
