Fantasy Football Notes - Buffalo Bills

Last season it seemed the Buffalo Bills just could not make up their minds. Was it going to be incumbent J.P. Losman or rookie Trent Edwards at quarterback? Were they going to use Lee Evans as a deep threat or a possession receiver? Should Marshawn Lynch get all the carries or should he share with Fred Jackson and Anthony Thomas? And between all the indecision, the Bills managed to finish with a 7-9 overall record, and failed to meet the expectations of many people who felt they should have been a playoff team in 2007.

Buffalo Bills 2007 Fantasy Football Year in Review

2007 was expected to present a pivotal season for the Buffalo Bills. Expectations had risen due to an influx of young talent on both sides of the ball. Quarterback J.P. Losman was poised for a breakthrough season. The club hoped it finally found its future franchise running back in 1st round pick Marshawn Lynch, while relieving themselves of disgruntled running back Willis McGahee. The team addressed a terrible offensive line by spending a bundle on left guard Derrick Dockery and right tackle Langston Walker. Following an upbeat training camp, the club sold out nearly all of their home games and the Bills, aside from the suspended defensive end Anthony Hargrove, were a healthy group poised to make some noise in the AFC. Then the season opened against Denver.

From that point forward, Buffalo players and coaches would be tested by one of the more emotional roller coaster seasons in team history; filled with awful injuries, a few breakthrough seasons, and another unwanted QB controversy that Coach Dick Juaron has already ensured won't occur in 2008; he has announced Trent Edwards as his starter. Let's press rewind and look back at a peculiar 7-9 season.

The U has produced some good punt returners

Devin Hester is getting a run for his money recently by fellow former U player Roscoe Parrish. Parrish has been one of the best punt returners in terms of yardage the past two seasons, including this year's league leading 19.4 return average. Although he's only taken 1 back for a TD, he's still getting more yards that Hester (15.9). Either way, these guys are stupid fast!
