Terrelle Who?

We knew there would be some rumblings about the backup quarterback heading into this fall, we just didn't think it would be this backup.

22 year-old sophomore Joe Bauserman stole the show in the 2008 Buckeye spring game, connecting with fellow soph Taurian Washington on two long scoring strikes (true, one was called back on a penalty, but you can't take anything away from the throw and catch). Bauserman looked so good on the afternoon that the large contingent of fans that see Boeckman as nothing more than a big-game disaster-in-waiting have already begun placing orders for their #14 bobble-heads.

Outsider Observations

Since Saturday's jersey scrimmage was closed to everyone but staff, members of the MSM and select members of coachtressel.com, there's not a whole lot I can add to the conversation. We're stuck parsing the accounts of beat reporters.

Can a Buckeye Get an Option Pitch?

Terrelle Pryor may not be arriving on campus until June, but that doesn't mean it's too early to discuss how he'll be used this fall.

It's generally assumed that LiC will be used in the same manner as Tebow was used his freshman season at Florida. Like Tebow, Pryor will drive the crowd bonkers when he enters the game and the dynamics of what he can do on the field basically doubles the size of your playbook. Similarly, Boeckman is a returning starter entering his final season and no matter how good the incoming talent, he won't lose his starting position.

It will be interesting to see how Tressel utilizes his prize catch. As one that's made a living out of adjusting his schemes to his personnel instead of the other way around, you can bet he'll have some tricks up his sleeve.

Could one of those tricks be the option?
