Ravens/Colts Friday Injury Report

Below is the final injury report and game status for both the Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts for Sunday's key matchup. Looks like a long list of questionable players on both sides, but Indy's list is a lot longer than ours. Perhaps that's part of the reason that Indy is only a one point favorite over our Ravens, when it appears that the undefeated Colts should be at least a six or seven point road favorite based on this year's record, much less their recent succes...

What's going on today

We'll fire off a few random thoughts for a typically busy Wednesday:

* Biggest crowd in the locker room today was around K Matt Stover, who as we all know used to kick for Baltimore and is now headed home. Funny thing, too, that the Ravens gave their kicker the boot on Tuesday and signed Billy Cundiff, the old washout with Dallas, New Orleans and Cleveland. I couldn't resist asking Stover today, when we were away from everyone else, "So, you think the Ravens wish they had you no...

Colts-Patriots redux

We all saw. No need to wax poetic. Let's get to the second-take observations:

* Joseph Addai runs right for 4 yards on the opening play, but then the Colts are content to throw quick and underneath on the next two plays and come up short. It's as if they expected blitzes and thought they could catch the Patriots in something. Pierre Garcon drops a pass on a bang-bang, ball arrives and he gets hit.

* Ramon Humber with a nice tackle on Wes Welker on the punt. Nice punt, Pat McAfee. Th...

Vinatieri's two cents

Some fans have expressed concern about kicker Adam Vinatieri and questioned if the 36-year-old kicker is getting up there in years after his 32-yard miss off the left upright on Sunday. He also had a kick bank in off the left upright at Miami.

While it would be an easy rationalization to say Vinatieri is dealing with a rookie holder in Pat McAfee and it takes some experience to get their timing down, I like that Vinatieri was a team player when he discussed his situation on Thursday.

Colts-Cardinals redux

Here are the observations from watching the 31-10 rout again:

* Peyton Manning is long on the first play, but it shows what's coming. He's going to test the Cardinals deep. And he was looking for Pierre Garcon. The next throw is high, but he's throwing to Austin Collie. Anybody who questions the young pups, he was going to them at the start, which says something.

* It amazes me how many times long snapper Justin Snow gets downfield and makes the tackle. He does it again on the i...

Keepin' tweets to the refs

Many have probably read or heard the NFL has let teams make their own rules on tweeting and blogging during training camp practices. The Colts don't allow it. The NFL, in a statement, says it encourages it, not from the players themselves but media and fans. Star columnist Bob Kravitz touched on this today in our editions.

For the record, I have a Twitter account, just checked it out last May, but it's basically inactive, so those who join won't find much from me on there. It&#39...
