NFL Season Preview: Miami Dolphins

The team that narrowly missed creating history with the number 16 in one column and zero in the other, the Miami Dolphins, ended the season just one shy of that magic 16, going 1-15.

I will now completely preview the Dolphins without mentioning the infamous Dancing With the Stars incident.

NFL Rumor Mill: Jason Taylor to The Packers? Maybe Not.

It is known by the football world that the Green Bay Packers have at least expressed interest in trading for Jason Taylor. What is not known, however, is if Miami has any desire to trade the veteran defensive end.

It appears...

Fantasy Football Notes - Miami Dolphins

No one was happier to see the Miami Dolphins season end more than the team itself! Fans watched in amazement as Miami produced one of the worst NFL seasons, ever! Miami's first and only win came in game #14 in which they defeated the Baltimore Ravens 22 to16. That is about the only highlight that came from this sorry team. RB Ronnie Brown was enjoying what was one of the better seasons by any running back in the league, having accumulated 991 total yards through his first seven games and scoring a combined 5 touchdowns before suffering a season ending ACL tear. Miami's only other possible fantasy contributor, WR Chris Chambers was shipped to the San Diego Chargers mid-season for a 2008 second round draft choice.

Miami didn't sit around long, hiring Bill Parcells to run the organization. Soon after, Parcells fired Head Coach Cam Cameron, replacing him with Tony Sparano. These hirings can only be seen as a positive sign as anyone and everyone knows that Parcells will not tolerate anything less than 110% effort!

Taylor to Packers deal looking unlikely

There were rumors this week that the Green Bay Packers were considering a trade for the Miami Dolphins Jason Taylor. Now their are conflicting reports about what is actually going on, the only thing consistent is that a deal is pretty much in dream land. ESPN's John Clayton feels there is no chance of one happening, while the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel does list a few ways that this deal can happen.

PACKERS INQUIRE ABOUT JASON TAYLOR

The Green Bay Press-Gazette (via the Palm Beach Post) reports that the Green Bay Packers recently made an "exploratory inquiry" regarding the availability of Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor.

"Anytime you can get a guy of that caliber, you'd want to try to get him," said Packers defensive tackles coach Bob Nunn, who was on the Dolphins' staff from 2000 to 2002. "But I don't get involved in anything like that."

The real question is whether the Dolphins and the Packers could reach an agreement as to trade terms for a player who has publicly said that he plans to play only one more year.

And it would be ironic if the Packers finally acquired a guy who can make a Reggie White-style impact in the first year after the Hall of Fame quarterback who lobbied for such a move retired

Packers looking to dance?

Could the Green Bay Packers be looking into Jason Taylor? According to the Green Bay Press-Gazette, the Packers have made an exploratory inquiry with the Miami Dolphins in regards to Taylor. It's no secret that Taylor has wanted out of Miami, but this is interesting timing as reports have said the sides semi-made up and Taylor was willing to play out his contract for the Dolphins. Taylor wants to play for a Super Bowl contender. The Packers even without Brett Favre, should be in the NFC playoff hunt. Is this is a good match , is it really a possibility???

Parcells says he wants Taylor back with Dolphins

Bill Parcells is speaking out, and wants it known that Jason Taylor has a place with the Miami Dolphins.
Bill Parcells says "of course" he wants Jason Taylor to return to the Dolphins this season.
The Dolphins' football operations czar, in one of his first interviews since joining the franchise in December, said Thursday "of course" he wants the six-time Pro Bowl defensive end to be on the field with Miami this fall.
"Why wouldn't you want one of the very best players?" Parcells said in an interview with The Associated Press during an appearance at a Gatorade promotional event.
Parcells also downplayed widespread reports of a rift with Taylor, calling it "a fabrication."
Earlier this week, Taylor said he wants to play one more season, and has told the Dolphins he would agree to a trade if they wish.
MIAMI -- For weeks, Bill Parcells has been hearing plenty about his feud with Jason Taylor.
Parcells says it doesn't exist.

Eagles interested in Jason Taylor?

I know there has been some discussion on this around the Yard, here are my thoughts on this "rumor":

According to Adam Schefter of the NFL Network, the Eagles are one of five teams that are interested in acquiring defensive end Jason Taylor from the Miami Dolphins. Taylor and the Dolphins have been feuding all off-season and Taylor appears ready to demand a trade out of town. Taylor would like to play for a team that will contend, something the Dolphins won't be doing any time soon. The five teams Schefter believes have shown interest in trading for Taylor: New Orleans, Philadelphia, Tampa Bay, Dallas and San Diego.

The only way Jason Taylor is an Eagle is if he is willing to take a pay cut to take on a smaller role with the Eagles as part of the rotation. In other words, it's not going to happen. The Eagles already made their big move along the defensive line for this off-season when they signed pass-rush specialist Chris Clemons. There might be another move in the cards for the Eagles, but that would likely involve Lito Sheppard or bringing in someone on the offensive side of the ball.

Now that June 1st is here expect all of the speculation to continue, just don't expect the Eagles to actually do anything.

Taylor calls news conference to discuss future

Miami Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor has scheduled a news conference for 11:30 a.m. Sunday, the Miami Herald is reporting.
Taylor is expected to to tell the media what his agent has been saying all along -- that he would like to be traded by the Dolphins to a contender.
The Dolphins, who are upset that Taylor spent the offseason on the TV show "Dancing With the Stars" rather than in South Florida working out with teammates, weren't planning to have Taylor on hand when they hold a mandatory minicamp June 6-8.
"I'm under contract with the Dolphins," Taylor told The Associated Press Wednesday after playing in a pro-am for the Principal Charity Classic, a Champions Tour event in Iowa. "...Football doesn't start until July and training camp, so I'll be all right. I've been in L.A. and so far removed from it. Like I said, I'll deal with that when I get there."
Taylor returned home to South Florida to host his own charity golf tournament Sunday and Monday. He had been in California fielding acting offers after finishing the reality show.
Miami coach Tony Sparano said last week that Taylor isn't expected to take part in any team activities through training camp.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! interesting, if anyone watches it blog it up, i'm headed out to ride-have a kicken day you barkers!!!!!!!!!!!!!
